Lumberjack – Leisure vs Dulwich 19th April 2015

An overcast Shanghai morning on Sunday, saw a resplendent Leisure team preparing for their 3rd game of the season against Dulwich. Confidence was high after a resounding win the week before and the usual pre-game rituals of pies and beers on the bus helped this group of consummate sports men and women prepare in true Leisure style(Thanks Woody for another delicious selection of pastry goods).

Lumberjack Pleasure v Digitals 19th Apr

Bashers Pleasure has introduced new players this season, both expat and local, and we have a very talented and competitive team. So it was a good test against a Digital side that comfortably won in last season’s final. This game was at Wellington International School which is growing on me as a cricket fixture.

Lumberjack | Leisure vs Hot Dogs SRFC Far | SUN 12 APR 2015

After scrambling around frantically the week before, the club was able to serve up more than the 33 soldiers needed to contend for what was an early season shot at a Bashers Day achievement. Bashers Leisure enlisted three debutants into the ranks, and we met at The Camel to share a big 45-seater bus with the Business team.

Lumberjack – Business vs. K2

Lumberjack - Business vs. K2 Game 1 - 12th April, 2015 at SCSC Pre-Match The bus journey to the ground, joint with Leisure, began with Stats declaring the back of the bus sacred ground and only to be occupied by those playing Business. But as the laws of the land don't apply to birds we were made to bear the chirping of Parrot.

Triple Header Squads (12 April)

Thanks to everyone who made themselves available for the triple header this weekend, especially all the first-time Bashers. We are making history by naming four Chinese players, who will be part of the Bashers all season, so please make them feel welcome and part of the team! Any Bashers not selected this week are most welcome to come out to the SCSC to support the teams on Sunday.

Lumberjack – Presidents XI vs Songjiang University Students – Saturday 29th March 2015

As Friday's weather threatened to wash out any hope of play on Saturday the heavens cleared and the sun shone brightly on the morn giving up Shanghai's first proper day of Spring for the Bashers Presidents XI's inaugural match vs Songjiang University students.

Bashers President’s XI to play T20 against Songjiang University, Sat 12 noon

There was a mass availability for this match, so thanks to all Bashers for putting their hands up! After a difficult selection process based on talent, skill, earliest date of availability, and subs paid, we have selected the following side:

Lumberjack- Pleasure vs. Hotdogs- Game 1- 21/03/2015

Prologue Shit Shoes’ idea of a ‘stock-take’ involved dumping all the kit on the floor and watching the New Zealand game which resulted in Frodo (who did not acquire the name through an abundance of inches) being handed an L sized shirt. By the time the club captain had located the smaller sizes: Martin Guptil had scored 100 runs; G’rilla was getting into his 4th pint; and Frodo, donning his oversized attire, had already taken a crap in The Camel toilets. Thus the bond between man and shirt had been forged, forever inseparable.

Lumberjack – Leisure Vs Pudong Game 1.

Lumberjack – Leisure Vs Pudong March 22, 2014 at Wellington College A lovely sunny day greeted the leisure players as they left their homes for the Camel to catch the Mini bus to Wellington. After squeezing the gear and players onto the bus a fairly non eventful trip (the esky buried under mounds of gear) we arrived with an hour 15 minutes prior to the arranged start time (note to captains for next time!) we took in our MCG sized field complete with boundary rope and settled into some catching and dropping practice on the dewey grass.
