This week at Lord’s, England won an amazing come-from-behind victory over Pakistan. But the game now is likely to be overshadowed forever by one of the greatest scandals to ever hit international cricket.

The British newspaper News of the World alleged that in a sting operation, they paid Pakistani middleman Mazhar Majeed 150,000 pounds ($230,000) to collude with Pakistani players and deliberately fix the match, for the benefit of gambling syndicates. Majeed was arrested by police and released on bail pending further investigation. The police have also spoken to several Pakistani players. At this stage, the claims are unproven allegations. But the secretly taped video of Majeed looks, on the face of it, pretty damning.

How would you feel if you shagged Pamela Anderson, then you found out she has hepatitis?

If you are Circus, no worries! But for the rest of us, there would be a mixture of emotions; satisfaction would become anxiety, boasting would accompany ridicule, spraying your load like a fireman on his first day at work would be a distant memory replaced by a penis that is slowly falling off as you urinate a cheese like substance that can only be found on a 6 month old (***** name withheld) pie and/or sausage roll.

What the f*ck am I talking about? Well…

Pam Anderson has great tatas and hepatitis, we ate some dodgy pies and The Pleasure tied with Pudong.

The day started, as usual, with the greatest cricket team in the world converging on the greatest sports bar in the world (free drink Bada), at the worst time ever, 7am. The bus was there before most of us, the Dragon Club prozzies were there before the bus, and apparently the pies were there before the dawn of man. So, after Pitstop gave the Dragon Club cheer squad each a pat on the arse and kiss, we were off to SRFC.

The bus ride was mainly uneventful…bar the food poisoning scare, the fact we needed a quantum mechanist to figure out what we needed to do to get into the finals, and that the last 200m of the journey took as long as the first 15km. A driveway anyone?

But, the esky was full, the weather was ok, and the Pleasure was ready to rock…minus Rock, replaced in the team by Korean.

Tank lost the toss, we were put into field, and the algorithm for winning was dumbed down for all Superninjas in attendance; Don’t bowl wides, get them out, don’t lose 5 wickets, and win the game. That’s what we always do.

Dazza and Number1ShrekTerror opened the bowling, and with the ball swinging more than Swahili (SUPERNINJA) does at a taxi driver, the Pudong openers could not get near it. The first, second and third times they did, it was thick-edged to Korean off the bowling of Numero Uno. Swahili (SUPERNINJA) chimed in, knocking over the castle twice, one being the prized scalp of Kapabelly for 1. Longdong gave the ‘Hiho DeSilva Away’ to three of the batsmen, 1 bowled, and catches by Pothole and Tank, without a mitt. Swoop (SUPERNINJA) dropped a catch, but then redeemed himself (or so we thought) with a laser like throw-in to Swahili (SUPERNINJA) who superninja’d the bails and sent the batsmen out, smokebomb style, before they could get back for the second. Then, in a reminder to Filthy why we don’t need fielding practice at training, or to be at training at all for that matter, Shrek displayed an abundance of basheresqueness, to misfield, run it down, pivot on the spot, and knock down the one stump he could see, all from a distance he quoted later that night at the Camel to be at least 600m. A season low 24 extras conceded, all out for 146. Go Bashers!

Pothole and Pitstop opened the batting and got off to the start we needed, slow and steady. But, in the third over we lost Pothole, and then the wickets fell regularly with Dazzler (say it aint so), Badabing, Omega, Pitstop and Swahili (SUPERNINJA) losing their wickets. Shrek, seeing that Swoop (SUPERNINJA) did not get his nickname from scoring quickly with the bat, went the tonk. A 44 run partnership was followed once again by the regular fall of wickets of Shrek, Tank, Swoop (SUPERNINJA), to leave us in the trusty hands of Korean and Longdong. The Dong slashed a square cut that if the SRFC had prepared the outfield properly, would have gone for four. Two runs and the scores were level with eight balls to go. Dong slashes the same brilliant shot again……only for the gully to take the ‘biggest load of fluky, how the f*ck did he catch that, lucky c*nt, eat sh*t’ catch anyone has seen. All out for 146.

 (5.46)

Tumbleweeds blew across the SRFC and pins thundered to the ground as we shook hands with the Power……then we left the kit for the Business, got on the bus with the esky and got amongst it.

So we played a washout game, that was originally a draw, and replaced it with a tie……Bashers!

No we wait and see if we can somehow backdoor our way into (Pam Anderson) the finals.

As we all started arriving at the camel at 11:30am for our 14:00 game (who was the dumb f**k that organised us to convene two and a half hours before the game), there was tension in the air and a hint of beans as we prepared to board the bus with our arch nemesis the c*ck smokers AKA Hotdogs.

The two teams fought for seats on the 7 seater bus, which amazingly arrived early for once. We then listened to stories of Loose making castles in the sandpit last weekend, Badabing & Swoop going over the AFL probable play-off scenarios and the one South African on the bus was abused about the All Blacks massive comeback and victory earlier that morning (3-0 biarchs)!

We arrived at the SRFC with only 1 hour 20 minutes and 34 seconds to spare. The sky was blue, there was a slight breeze and thermometer hitting 35 degrees Celsius; it was perfect weather for kite flying and death for the team fielding first.

Tank then proceeded to win the toss and decided to test the physical conditioning of the c*ck smokers by letting them field first. Both teams went into their extremely vigorous warm-ups with the c*ck smokers doing their best to kill themselves by warming up for an hour with Circus like fielding practice. While the mighty Bashers hydrated on water, Gatorade and most importantly beer.

With a batting order that a New Zealander would be jealous of, Tank put Pothole (8) and Pitstop (31) into open. They easily saw off the opening bowlers and established a good base for the innings with Pitstop hitting early boundaries. Rock then came in with some beautiful shots and never seen before quick singles, before being runout for 49 in the last over. Dazzler continued his great form and only just missed out on retiring with his 57. Badabing smashed a quick 32no off 16 balls. With the Pleasure seeing out the 30 overs, the c*ck smokers were feeling the heat. They now faced the daunting task of needing 200 runs to win the game against a team with the confidence of the All Blacks.

The game plan was simple, keep it tight and a Pleasure victory was certain….. or so it seemed (we never calculated extras into the plan)!

Swahili opened with some mediocre bowling that showed that duty free alcohol is not always a good thing. Loose and dazzler bowled a tight spell and the overs ticked over for minimal runs. The captain decided to bring himself on. After being dispatched for a few runs he then claimed a famous “captain on captain” wicket, with Long Dong taking a beautiful, on the run catch and then letting everyone in Waigaoqiao know that it was his first catch of the season. Loose then claimed a wicket that was assisted by the batsman playing it onto his stumps. A c*ck smoker comeback then began and some arguing with the umpire assisted their efforts as a stumping was reversed. This ended with Badabing yelling “Shut the F*CK up Eric” (The batsman who was demolishing Shears awesome bowling at the time). The bashers regained control with good fielding and communication. Loose f*cked off for a BBQ and left us with 10 men for the final overs (c*nt). Didn’t need or miss him as the bashers got 3 runouts and Swoop picked up a nice cleaned bowled in the last over.

A great victory against the C*CK SMOKERS our fellow CAMEL BAR sponsored team. The ride back was tame and very Business like (Gay). The fine session was attended by 5 players and was very un-business like (hard out f*cking cool).

Noted:

Dazzler wearing his pants backwards.

Tank for saving Shears kid from brain damage.

Extras (50) for almost costing us the game AGAIN!

Loose for drinking all the beers and then leaving early(c*nt).

All Blacks for destroying South Africa.

Tank for gaining his first victory as captain.

Bashers for abusing the TV crew there.

Shears for having a spew and still playing.

Great batting by the top order for once.

One more big win against the Pudong pussies this weekend and the 2nd Division title is there for the taking. Then we don’t need to spend next season listening to Business glory stories, we will have our own.

With the Shanghai Dragons gearing up for their tour of Beijing, they have asked the Clubs in the SCC to raise a team to take them on in a practice match this Sunday.

It will be a good opportunity to take on a team consisting of:
Sanj, Jon, Mike, Hunt, Deepak, Jasim, Phil (Basher), Nigel (Basher), Bernie, Waqar, Jasim, Aravind

Good to get them to gel as a team – but also an opportunity to vent any grievances at being snubbed by the selection committee and to put a strong performance in.

Any takers?
