Bonjour from Twiggy in Morocco

Hi Bashers - you may remember me as the stylish right hand Pom batter from the British Embassy - or perhaps as the fat old bastard who pulled a hammy. Now working in Morocco - love the Basher pages and comments. No pics of Bashers but you might like to see a cricket pitch in Pakistan which I've just left. Outfield needs a bit of work.

Bashers Leisure 2012 SCC Division 3 Champions

Well done to the Leisure team for bringing home the trophy in yesterdays final. A great performance all round. Bad luck to the business who made a great game of it with the ball.

Good luck Bashers…

Cricket For Smiles – Japan

A couple of years ago many Bashers stepped up to the plate and contributed to the Cricket For Smiles programme in Japan which was set up after the Tsunami. That programme has gone on to win the ICC Spirit of Cricket Award  and a couple of days ago Cricket Japan's CEO, Alex Miyaji,  was also the subject of a special motion in the Scottish Parliament (Alex is half Scottish) recognising his efforts. Cricket is hardly a big sport in Japan so what these guys have achieved both on the pitch and off the pitch in terms of their wider contribution to the local communities is simply outstanding.

Training is off….

..... the weather has done us again! Lets hope it gets it out of its system before Sunday. See you all at the Camel for a beer or 2.
