Bashers Day

Bashers President Mal Collins today decreed that April 27 shall henceforth be known as "Bashers Day". It is unknown whether his motivation for this announcement was that it was his birthday, his golden duck, the two bashers victories or that he was just plain drunk.

Captains XI Slain By Giant John

John L'Epagniol produced a record breaking bowling perfomance in the SCC Selection match on April 16 of 8/22 from 8 overs including a hat-trick. The scorers are still finishing up the sheet but everyone assumes that the Presidents XI won comfortably. Congrats John - you might have just squeezed your way into the Dragons side to play Lamma during the May Holiday.

Bashers vs Pudong Lumberjack, 9 April 2006

Bashers vs Pudong, 9 April 2006 (as emailed out by Ed Molony) Firstly thanks to all those who braved the adverse weather conditions to play against Pudong yesterday. The game was a stop start affair with the teams coming off 2 or 3 times due to downpours. This caused the captains to decide on reducing the game to 28 overs per innings. Anyway the end result was a well deserved victory by the Bashers.

2005 Shanghai International Cricket Sixes Review

Dear Friends I say with no personal hesitation that 2005 was our finest and most successful Cricket Tournament ever, dare I say China's. An unprecedented 16 teams, our biggest crowd, highest revenues, most media coverage, local interest and low and behold - in seven years of trying - stunning weather!! The play itself was a mixed bag of highly entertaining results played in the usual great spirit. An interesting footnote is that the Shanghai based teams cleaned up all four category cups although in completely in the wrong order so no chance of that being suspicious.
