Ashes with the Bashers

More information coming soon...

April 15th, Leisure Vs Daredevils

It started as any good Basher Double Header should, full of anticipation and desire to win. After an early scare the leisure were missing a treasure and what was left were a few rough diamonds hoping to shine. But replacements were quickly sorted, and all arrived at Cages raring to go. In typical Basheresque style and organisational prowess, vehicles were arranged for both teams to go their separate ways. Pleasure making full use of the 30+ seater coach, filled to the brim with all four Pleasure players; the full complement of the Leisure Eleven, squeezed snuggly into their mini podmobile, where the seats were tighter than Cliff Richard’s pants during his police raid and the soundwaves helping us feel like we were going on an actual summer holiday.

Bashers vs Hot Dogs Friendly 07 April 2018

A rag tag bunch of bashers gathered at Wellington for an 8am friendly match against the Hot Dogs. With the match not a league game, there were no pies and no bus so the Bashers started to arrive in dribs and drabs. With around 14 Bashers keen to play, captain for the day Messi had declared on the match wechat that the batting order would be decided by whoever got to the ground first. According to this formula the batting order would’ve been Bambi, Messi then Tucker. This was soon scrapped.

Sunday 1st April – Business Vs. Pudong Cricket Club

After a losing start to their D1 campaign, Business was looking forward to winning the second match of the season against Pudong Cricket Club.

Business vs Daredevils CC – March 18th

Bashers,   Defying the doom and gloom of the weather forecasters, Business came together for their first fixture of the season against defending champions Daredevils. Preparations had been hampered by an on-going injury crisis. However, suitable replacements were found in the form of Schlost (Bashers Debutant chomping at the bit) and Windy (After a lengthy goal post related injury, was keen to show his form to the selectors).

Leisure Vs Dulwich 25th March 2018

Twas an early start to the first game of the season for the captain and author of this piece who rose at 4am to go the Mansion nightclub to put some music on for drunk people. When the police closed the club at 6am due to ‘noise complaints’, which could be interpreted as bad music choice, the skipper made an earlier than expected than journey back to cages to prepare the kit.

Bashers Arse Hardening Challenge 2018

Overall a disappointing turnout with only 13 Bashers taking part. The Geishas were intimidated enough not to show up. They needn't have been as only one team really made much of an effort.
