Result from the draw on Saturday. Expecting some pretty vigorous banter to follow. A nice round 28 Entries.
Someone will be along shortly to tell you what you stand to win….
New Kids on the Block Voodoo FC proved more is more in dominating this quiz, particularly smart use of the Wildcard. Most of the rest i don’t recall.
Some excellent brain stretchers though, everyone an upstanding for Filthy. See you all next time…
With all the banter starting for this Saturday seems like tonight will be a good opportunity for some proper pre-match sledging.
Good morning all.
I’ll be brief because i know you have studying to do in preparation for this Saturday.
If it’s not to early for you to have your eyes open you may have noticed things looking a little different around here. It’s a bit of a tradition to give the website a fresh look for a fresh new season.
If you don’ plan to read much further please at least take two minutes to do this: Update your profile.
If you’re logged in you’ll find your little mini control panel just to the left, from here click on your name or face. Otherwise just go here and you’ll be asked to login.
This is your profile page. it’s fairly important for those running the club and for you that the information on here is up to date.
Go through all the items there and check that your phone number and everything is correct. try to fill out as much as you can. The Bashers don’t use your details for anything other than to make sure you get as much out of the club as you can.
While you’re there, upload a picture to be your avatar, sorry about having to redo this, just trying a new system. It’s a fairly straight forward process. If you want your old piccy back, have a look here or maybe here.
Anyway, other than that, most things you’re used to should still be here somewhere, if not let me know what’s gone missing. If something looks wrong please help me by telling me what the symptom is and give some information about what OS & browser you’re using.
I’m aware that there remains a few rough edges as i struggle getting certain non-standards-compliant browsers to co-operate. Expect a few bumps as i work through the bugs.
As always, feedback is welcomed, unless you’re using internet explorer 6, in which case, you need to get your entire IT department fired immediately and stop using software which was crap even when it was released a decade ago.
In addition, any ideas for new features will get a listen (except you GG).
Hope you enjoy the change of scenery.

UPDATE!
See below an updated flyer for Sunday. There are now some serious auction and raffle prizes on offer. Get involved!
————————————————————————————
If you haven’t read the news today (oh boy) you wouldn’t know that half of Australia is under water.
Some good people have done the right thing and put together a bit of an event so you can help those in need and enjoy the process.
You guys all know Kakadu so it wouldn’t be strange at all to blaze along there on Sunday 23rd for a feed and a wallet full of cash to throw in a bucket.
If you have a surplus of goodies at work or something in the shed you need to move then give James (15902148227) or Lukeo (13917244685) a call and donate it as a prize for the myriad of raffles/auctions.
25rmb drinks (happy face), 100rmb bbq(happy bum).
Here’s the final word for you as the pieces fall together for this Friday.
This is the biggest off field occasion for the Bashers this year and hopefully goes some way towards appeasing the long suffering Geishas.
The venue, in case you hadn’t tweaked yet, is our old friends at Kakadu.
So Blazer up for work Friday and come straight down after.
Everyone is welcome from the extended Bashers family. That means, you, your friend, your wife, your lover, your concubines, your colleagues, your parents, your grandparents, life coaches, private dancers… Just let Sir Dick know who you will be bringing so we have enough napkins prepared. This is as much about them as it is about you.

Please try to be on site by 18:30 so we can get through the AGM. Ladies there is a separate area for you to gossip, sip and compare notes on who is the studdliest Basher while this happens.
Afterwards, the eating will commence in earnest. It’s Kakadu, so you know it’ll be good.
Then we’ll have the 2010 FInal Fines Session where awards will be given to those who deserve them and a few who don’t.
And finally the looseness will take hold and we’ll do our best to top the efforts of previous years and drink the eskies (plural) dry.
The cost for this whole evening of food and booze is 150rmb per head, well worth the price of seeing Sir Dick do the splits alone. But wait, it gets even better, If you are a fully paid up 2010 Basher you get the special price of, wait for it… $NZ0. Yes that’s right, absolutely free for Bashers. But that’s not all, in addition to that, fully paid up Bashers will gain entry and all the food and all the drinks for the most important Geisha in your life, that’s right, a whole extra person, completely free! You heard it right, we’ve gone completely bonkers!
Kakadu is part of the Bridge 8 complex at 8 JianGuo road right down near ChongQing road. 上海市卢湾区建国中路8号桥5号楼1104A室. Phone them 54680118 if you get lost.
Get amongst it!
Hot off the press from the Pusher who is “Enjoying beer in the sun watching Mei Hua rip through Malaysia’s batting line up here at Asian games.”
Can’t believe we didn’t organise a sweepstakes for this event.
Currently our friends from the Japanese Women’s team are in battle with Nepal.
The Perfect recovery session for the end of season function.
Our favourite rural proprietor is taking off his shirt and opening his heart again in order to open your bowels. This seems to be right up the Basher’s alley. Let’s get ready to rural, i see a train carriage full of stained Blazers!
The 2030′s look to be a stellar decade for the Bashers with a bumper crop of new recruits springing forth in recent weeks.
First we had Mrs Unit making early delivery of Tommaso Lapthorne at 9:30pm on Wednesday 29 September. ”T-Man” clocked the scales at 3.5kg after a “smooth and clean delivery”
This momentous event was followed by a spring lamb in Sydney last week. Basher Yi Hao sired his second son Henry Michael Turner with the help of Princes Fiona on Thursday 21 October at 6pm just in time for happy hour at Marrickville Bowling club. Also 3.5kg.
the future is bright!
There’s plenty of action remaining before the winter proper hits, just look at the upcoming events in the sidebar.
I just want to take this five minutes i have spare right now to ask you to do the same and have a look on your cameras, hard drives and phones for any Basher materials, specifically any photos from the action on and off the pitch this year. If you have anything worthy of it’s own post then go ahead and get it on here otherwise contact me by email blog@basherscc.org
thanks, we don’t want these moments to be lost to history.
More to come soon from the committee on the end of season awards Bash (right committee?). If you’re a newby then all you need to know is make no other plans for the 26th of this month (and possibly a day or two after)
One way you can all potentially help them is to think about any restaurants with a room we could use for this. Last year we had 60-70pax, this year could be more. Keep it in mind and let Sir Dick know of any leads.
cheers.
