Forget the result…..in the end it was great day out enjoyed by everyone with a large turnout of Bashers supporters, a final played in a great spirit, bathed in glorious sunshine and a Basher’s moment for the ages, courtesy of Hardon; and let’s not forget the conception of a new media empire and the birth of a sports anchor, Ali ‘Fruitbox’ Brown.

Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori: Pleasure vs Pudong D2 Semi-Final

The Bashers D2 (aka the Pleasure Machine, aka Pain for Pleasure, aka Welcome to the Pleasure-dome, ad nauseum, ad infinitum), reach 7/129 to defeat Pudong Power D2 (10/128), to secure a controversial second successive appearance in the D2 final (after Pudong were unlucky to not receive 20 plumb LBW decisions).

A Wet day for the doggies at Wellington – Sunday 12th August, 2018 (Pleasure Vs Hot dogs)

The day started out quite decent as it was overcast and not much sun to bother the Bashers as they anticipated another D2 victory. However, unaware to us, the weather had other plans to spoil the thoughts of many. With a stacked team, the bashers set off the cages to round up the cooler and ready the gear to ensure an early departure from cages.

Business vs Daredevils CC. 18th March

Bashers, Defying the doom and gloom of the weather forecasters, Business came together for their first fixture of the season against defending champions Daredevils. Preparations had been hampered by an on-going injury crisis. However, suitable replacements were found in the form of Schlost (Bashers Debutant chomping at the bit) and Windy (After a lengthy goal post related injury, was keen to show his form to the selectors).

A Dark & Steamy Night – Business V Pudong, 28th July

It was a bloody hot day and we won. Much of the pre-match chatter concerned the weather. The mercury was resting at a painful 38 degrees in Shanghai but it felt more like 46 degrees according to various iPhones. So hot was it, that Tango was unsure if they were real conditions. Surely weather this hot was unfeasible. It must all be a dream, a terrible sweaty nightmarish dream. But no, it wasn’t a dream, this was real and Business had 80 overs of toil awaiting them.

Bashers soiled by filthy Doggies

Leisure were narrowly defeated by the filthy Doggies on Saturday, with Basher’s bowling, fielding and batting all lacking that killer edge to take the game away from Shanghai’s canine cheats, who posted a very get-able 155. The captain’s after match comments summed up the team’s feelings. “We was done like a bunch of muppets, we was fackin’ robbed. We’ve let down the gaffer, sorry Tamps.”
