Business surprised as Haseena gets erotic

Sunday morning, 10:10am.

Two short videos emerge on the D1 bashers group of a silky looking batsman in the nets; one smooth flick through mid wicket and the other a flowing cover drive, this man, whoever he was, had talent.

I’d later be introduced to Ahmed, our new D1 recruit who was a self styled batter who could bowl. Little did we know the surprise we were in for.
After having won the toss I thought batting might suit given the embarrassment of riches available; this theory having completely back fired the previous game, it couldn’t possibly go wrong again?!

I didn’t go wrong, it went right – Haseena and Sensation opened up with a phenomenal partnership, seeing off K2 star bowlers much to the joy of the on watching team and not forgetting Sensation’s new ‘friend’ Laura.

Much to Laura’s dismay Sensation took a whack in the balls, and, instead supporting him with a sporting rub down, she promptly walked off unimpressed. Sensation learning he’ll require more than the wounded soldier act to woo this one, may this love saga continue.

Meanwhile Sensation’s 30 became 50 in quick time as Haseena played a brilliant supporting act with shots of his own. Sensation would fall caught behind on 71, another solid innings and a fantastic platform for us to build on.

Ahmad walked out donned with professional looking blue pads, pads which came in useful for K2 in getting him out LBW after only 5 balls. The elegant cover drive and flick through mid wicket were fake news! Ahmad had surprised me not for the first time that day.

Fruitbox and Haseena moved on quickly and capitalized with some big hitting and entertaining shots. Haseena in fine form throughout slapping short balls around, his timing getting better all the way through the innings.

Haseena would eventually get his 100 and bat through the whole 40, with fantastic steal and guts. Fruitbox ending on 82 after some nice, straight boundaries. We ended on 298 for 2; a Bashers high?! In recent memory certainly. Most impressive was quality of bowling we faced to do it, in other words had to work for the runs, and work we did.

With a strong total confidence was high and spirits were up. Energy was the key word in the field, and we started with lots of it. Second over, Ankit (Now The Juggler) bowled a wide half volley which was duly crunched into the covers. Hit straight, however at Sensation, the only man who could’ve caught it. He took it expertly, a crazy catch given the pace on the ball, and proceeded to do his trademark mad dog celebration routine of sprinting aimlessly around until someone stopped him!

One down, great start, but WAIT, those clouds were looking ominous, and surely rain couldn’t spoil the party?!
As we continued another great catch would grace the game, a moon ball top edge, hit high and hard, taken in a dive by The Juggler after everyone and his dog called for it! Splendid take, this would be his first of two great catches.

With Higgins (Now focus), another debutant bowling efficiently from one end, the idea of another spinner came to mind as we watched K2 struggle to deal with his variation in pace, swing and turn.  Ironically his first bad ball would be knocked down leg straight into the hands of the Juggler who duly Juggled it (thus earning his name) but caught it to grab Focus his first wicket.

Due to the potential for rain and a few conferences with key people we decided to aim to get through 20 overs  ASAP. So after asking him if he could bowl spin (to which he replied “Sure…”) Ahmad (Now Surpise) was called upon.

Surprised we were, Ahmad would go on to clean up!!! Bamboozling the K2 batsmen with flippers, under spinners and back handers ending on 5-14 in 3.3 overs. Madness, a brilliant performance from a modest man to say the least! Congratulations to Surprise on his debut!
Focus would finally find an outside edge after narrowly missing time after time and a smart catch behind by Revelations gave Focus a tidy two on debut.

With only 3 bowlers and 3 bats contributing, we were left with a bunch of TFC (thanks for coming) awards for the day, special mentions to Rooty who scored like a champion and Suka who barely touched the ball, both of whom showed great spirit and were on fine form post match! HUGE thank you as well to Bam Bam for his travels (and recruitment).  Most of all to Natural, who having been on the team sheet from the start but didn’t realize it till very late doors on Sunday morning (entirely the skippers fault),  he showed up in a taxi and put in a top effort in the field! A dedicated natural Basher!

It’s hard to remember a more comprehensive Bashers Business victory. This team finally producing what it’s capable of, should now go on to great things. We have an awesome squad. It’s just about getting the balance right, and on Sunday, everything went right. Business must, in the now famed words of one of our Debutante’s; “Focus….”.

Post game exactly everthing is fines were a hoot, with Bambi stike rate complaint ending in the genusis of a term bashers term, “Kunt-rate” yet to be properly defined. The pleasure were in fine form on the bus making up for a slow and painful win on the field. Finally a welcome to a new Geisha, named late doors on sunday night…. “Sobaka”, Welcome to the bashers!
