Bashers Quiz Night – Update

Once the fogginess from one too many Fireballs and Ciders consumed on Thursday cleared, it was quickly replaced by another kind of a high – the high of having accomplished something amazing & having made a difference.
Despite a certain Basher (Skid Row) showing up late, and Mr. Gates doing his best, the Bashers quiz went off smoothly and was a success!

For those who don’t already know, the Bashers Quiz night was also a benefit to raise funds to help Esme – a Bashers’ colleague with her fight against cancer. As expected, people quickly showed up for what promised to be a fun night for a great cause! An awesome Bashers quiz night planned by your quizmasters – Truffles, Cranky, Hardon & Skid Row was made epic by the generosity of those present on the night! Lots of booze was drank, prizes were won, and above all, a difference was made! In a matter of minutes, at club legend Cranky’s asking, 6000RMB was raised with ~4000RMB more pledged towards the great cause for the night!

A BIG BIG thank you to those who without hesitation opened up not just their hearts, but also their wallets to help out a complete stranger in need! It was extremely heartening to see so many, so willing to help out someone they have and likely will never meet!

A special thanks to Chirag & the Pudong Cricket Club for their generous contribution and in many ways, kickstarting the contributions towards this great cause!

The night would not have been such a big success without the selfless contributions of the good folks at Cape Grape and the Nielsen Company!

Lastly, but definitely not the least, thank you to the Bashers! It took merely minutes from proposing the idea of doing the Quiz night for a benefit, to having a flyer ready to go! The turnout and the generosity speaks volumes to the quality of people that make up this fantastic club! Bashers, UPSTANDING!

This past Friday, we met Esme and gave her the contributions we had raised and she was extremely thankful. True to her character, despite still recovering from the most recent round of chemotherapy, her smile was a constant! Her parents & she were extremely grateful and overwhelmed by the generosity of complete strangers! While Esme’s battle against cancer has and will continue to be a long one, I can say without a doubt, that with your generous contributions, you have made a huge difference!
