7/28 Business v Devils: Another day, another game..!

Build up to the match started very early in the week with Tango and Korean looking for eligible Bashers to volunteer themselves to be available for the D1 game with 1 suspended player for the match-Suka trying his best to revoke the suspension.

Fast forward to Thursday~Saturday- Revs being tentatively available unless his trip home is postponed and making himself available eventually, Surprise being Surprise making himself available and bailing out at the last minute. Bam Bam coming to the rescue by getting someone who share his last name-No they are not brothers.
And some ’23 year old for a long time’ Mr Raheel making himself available on the blog for the game. Warcry offering help to get his friends if we couldn’t make 11 on the field.

Match day-
Tango, with not hesitating to bat first after winning a good toss on a cool Sunday afternoon and realizing we lost top 5 in no time (57/5,13.3). Then came the rescue act from Khaleed Afridi who smashed 62(53) with 2 huge sixes and 3 drop catches. Bashers looking good for a fighting total. Korean coming handy lower down the order and Stroker riskily hitting a huge six to finish the innings at 183/8 in 35 overs. Yes, match was reduced to 35 overs due to the weather.

Bam Bam starting the defense well for both the teams by getting a wicket in the first over after being hit for a 4 and couple of extras. Sensie providing good support from the other end but unlucky to get a wicket. Bam Bam striking again with a good catch from Revs behind the wicket before ending his first spell for a breather at 35’C. Tango introducing ’23 year old for a long time’ into the attack who seemed promising in his 1st over but ended up going out of the field after just bowling 2 overs during the break and not returning back for the day. Chase was well on going at 6 an over during the first break. Bashers down to 10 men for major part of the game and doing really well with some slow bowling and building the pressure. Stroker into the attack and claiming a wicket for himself before getting down with a heat stroke. Devils loosing wickets at regular intervals and tough catches going down as well. Warcry’s friend lending a helping hand to field for the 11th men during the fag end of the game but eventually target being chased down in 32 overs.

Big fine for the team for having more beers than water/energy drink in the esky on a fuming Sunday afternoon….!
