Lumberjack Report: Pleasure vs Hot Dogs, March 25

Another game, another pleasure win! 2 from 2 to start the season!!!

Some sun greeted us Sunday morning as the bus Bashers converged on the Camel. Minus our pies that the Business had stolen (possibly for Filthy’s pre birthday celebration. Happy bday Filth), forcing half the team to order a sausage roll to go.

The bus ride there consisted of Parrot speaking about the Bashers upcoming movie deal, how he can be the only insurance sales guy in the movie, his manager, The Jaguar, was representing him and no one dropped their guts while on the bus (no one is pointing at you, Omega).

Arriving at the ground, the fielding in practice was sharp, the Korean won the toss and elected to field and the vibe was good as we headed out to the middle knowing we chase well.

Swahili and Swoop opened the bowling, a first for Swoop, but after his man of the match last week, he was primed for another big day. The wickets and wides came thick and fast, Tank, Long Dong, Tantric and Badabing all joined in the fun and all had wickets. Tank was close to a hatrick, and Badabing shoulda, coulda, woulda!

A good display in the field, special mention to Tantric who had a great catch and was like a hawk on the boundary. Not so special mention to A Trois, for the juggling act to Bada’s could have been. Anyway, we held them to 190 with our usual 40+ extras their highest scorer.

Manoj and Pitstop headed out to the middle for the second week in a row, hoping to get more than their combined 8 runs the week before. Shortly after, A Trois was walking back bringing Parrot to the crease. Short ball, 6, short ball 4! No more div 3 for Parrot. A good partnership and Pitstop was headed back for 19.

Enter Swoop and off the mark with a 6, he and Parrot kept it ticking over. Parrot eventually falling for 40, Swoop looked in ominous form. Joined by the Korean, a 106 run partnership was formed. Swoop contributed 66 and the Korean 25, again extras were a strong contributer.

During this, Shitshoes had 45 minutes of throw downs and Tank couldn’t watch the scorebook get violated by Badabing. Shitshoes and Tank both had the pads on, but weren’t needed as the Bashers scored a comfortable victory with 6 overs remaining. Shitshoes winning the sweet FA award of the day.

A great win and if I don’t tell you, you’ll hear it from him. Swoop’s average is 112!

Looking forward to next game and reuniting the Potstop and Pithole combination…
