TOUR: Hong Kong Cricket 6s Festival (Dec 5-7, 2008)

The call is out….for player availability to represent the Bashers CC in the HK Cricket Festival 2008 http://hkcricketfestival.com/index.htm . For those of you not familiar with this tournament, it is a Sixes Tourn., and part of the official Asian Sixes Tour http://www.cricketsixes.com (the HK equivalent of our Shanghai International Sixes tournament this month), and is sanctioned by the HK Cricket Club.

DATES: Friday 5th Dec – Sunday 7th Dec., 2008.

 

Ø Departure: Flight would depart late afternoon/early evening Thursday 4^th Dec., and then straight to the Hotel, followed by a short Nathan Road familiarization program.

Ø Playing: Games start Friday morning, where we will be required to play in multiple games through to end of day Saturday. Sunday will be for finals, and of course we will be playing that day (They have CUP, PLATE, BOWL, and SPOON finals!). EVERYONE who comes on tour WILL get a game!

Ø Returning either on Sunday evening, or Monday morning (arriving before lunch – depending on whether you can get Monday morning off or not). Will need to let us know when you confirm your availability.

Ø Accomodation: The official Hotel for teams is the 4 star EATON HOTEL in the middle of the Golden Mile on Nathan Road (warning bells…). Cost will be 450rmb (share-twin beds) or 830rmb (double bed) per night, depending on whether you want to share room with each other or not. Includes breakfast. We can discuss this, but its unlikely we’ll get a better deal outside of the gutter in HK these days.

Ø Other Costs: BCC will cover the team tournament/players fees (which includes tickets, shuttles, players shirts and caps etc). Return Flights will be around 2500rmb each (TBA).

Ø Sponsorship: We are seeking sponsors to help with flight and Hotel costs. All can help with this, notify John L’Epagniol if you have any suggestions.

Ø Law Enforcement: We are touring as a team, and it is expected that we do everything and go everywhere as a team. A tour Fines Manager will be selected at the start of the tour. Once he is voted in, he may only be overthrown by unanimous vote. Whatever he requires of you is gospel. Bewarned….

Will, then follow up shortly after with meeting at the Boo to finalize team and arrangements.
