Season Starting Sixes 2019
Bashers old and new, its time to start thinking about cricket again!
We are launching the 2019 season with a sixes day at SCSC on March 10th. There will be a bus – with beers and pies – leaving Cages (428 Jiangning Road) at 9 and play will get underway at 10. We have the pitch for 4 hours, after which the bus will return to Cages for the first fine session of the year.
This is a great opportunity for new and prospective Bashers to experience the club and see the facilities, and for returning players to get their eyes in before the SCC competition begins.
It will cost you 100RMB for the day to help cover the ground rental.

Some details:
Matches will be six aside (although we may adjust this depending on numbers to give more people a game).
Each team bats for five overs, and everybody except for the wicketkeeper bowls one over (you can only change keeper during the innings for an injury).
Runups for bowlers are limited to 6 paces max.
Wides and no balls are not rebowled except for the last ball of an innings. They cost the fielding team 4 runs, and there can be no extra runs except for off the bat on no balls.
No LBWs.
You can’t be out first ball (or run out without facing).
Batters retire at 25 (but can come back later in the order of retirement if their team loses enough wickets).
Last-man -standing rule applies. If a team loses 5 wickets, the remaining batter continues with the last person out staying as a runner only.
Bashers will supply cricket gear (bats, pats, etc.) but you can use your own kit too.
No set clothing for the day – although your team might ask you to wear a certain colour.
