Business vs Pudong, 4th August 2013

Preliminaries The Business looked like it needed some players so I made myself available mid-week, but by Saturday night the squad had 12 players and it looked like I would only be required to film from the sidelines and occasionally bring out some iced drink from the chilly bin. So I almost reluctantly packed my kit on Sunday morning, and made my way to the Camel for the 10.30am timeline. I found only a few Bashers at the bar, and Filthy furiously calling first one, then another, Business players to scramble an eleven together.

Lumberjack Business vs Devils July 28th, 2013

Business faced a determined Devils on Sunday July 28th at the SRFC. For once I was on time and as the taxi reached the end of Dongping Lu there was one of our main men Big Dazzler walking into the "all day" to load up on some fried food to get himself through the day.  This prematch snack is always part of Tubby's preparation and I expected to see him inside also ordering.

Pleasure v. Digitals Lumberjack

Here's Tiny's recap of last Sunday's events: Saturday 20th – read blog. Concern over 8 men for Pleasure. Volunteer to double up (in spite of the heat) since with 8 it is almost impossible to be competitive. Offer accepted. Pack kit. Go to bed early.

Leisure Lumberjack – Sat July 20

After a lack of Lumberjacks and a rather lackluster performance on the park this year, championship-winning standard-bearers for The Bashers CC Shanghai  -- "Bashers Leisure" --  came romping home this weekend in style with a sound thrashing of the Daredevils to storm up the table and into play-offs contention. Herein lies the Lumberjack.

Where Have All the Lumberjacks Gone?

It seems that only Filthy is writing lumberjacks these days. This is not very Basher-like! Come on Pleasure and Leisure (and the rest of the Business), step up and deliver!

Business v Hots Dogs Lumberjack July 14th

The Business were hoping to get back in the saddle after consecutive loses had brought them pack to the chasing back in the Division 1 standings. Another hot and sunny day greeted the boys although this week had the added luxury of a strong wind to keep the humidity away.

DELAYED Business vs K2 Leopards July 7th Lumberjack

Due to unforeseen circumstances this lumberjack is a week late. July 7th saw the table topping Business meet with the cellardwellers in the K2 Leapards on the SRFC Far ground. Pigu was making his Business debut in his last game before an elongated summer break. He was to be joined on hiatus by Fruitbox after this match. The remaining Business boys were in for the long haul with this match being the first of 5 on the trot in the oppressive Shanghai summer heat. It was with this heat in mind that skipper Filthy tossed with the intention of sitting back and watching the top order pile on the runs. He lost and the Business were in the field.
