Lumberjack

Lumberjack – Presidents XI vs Songjiang University Students – Saturday 29th March 2015

As Friday's weather threatened to wash out any hope of play on Saturday the heavens cleared and the sun shone brightly on the morn giving up Shanghai's first proper day of Spring for the Bashers Presidents XI's inaugural match vs Songjiang University students.

Lumberjack- Pleasure vs. Hotdogs- Game 1- 21/03/2015

Prologue Shit Shoes’ idea of a ‘stock-take’ involved dumping all the kit on the floor and watching the New Zealand game which resulted in Frodo (who did not acquire the name through an abundance of inches) being handed an L sized shirt. By the time the club captain had located the smaller sizes: Martin Guptil had scored 100 runs; G’rilla was getting into his 4th pint; and Frodo, donning his oversized attire, had already taken a crap in The Camel toilets. Thus the bond between man and shirt had been forged, forever inseparable.

Lumberjack – Leisure Vs Pudong Game 1.

Lumberjack – Leisure Vs Pudong March 22, 2014 at Wellington College A lovely sunny day greeted the leisure players as they left their homes for the Camel to catch the Mini bus to Wellington. After squeezing the gear and players onto the bus a fairly non eventful trip (the esky buried under mounds of gear) we arrived with an hour 15 minutes prior to the arranged start time (note to captains for next time!) we took in our MCG sized field complete with boundary rope and settled into some catching and dropping practice on the dewey grass.

Gaelic Report, 7th March

The Bashers Gaelic Team included: Stats, Shit Shoes, Messi, Miyagi, Korean, Cassius, Pope, and Tantric, plus some ringers as well. It was a beautiful day, if with a crisp breeze, and we had a lot of fun.

Bashers Slayers Lumberjack, 1 March

Bashers Slayers Lumberjack It's taken a while to get the scorecards from the arena, hence the slight delay in posting the match reports. This was a classic Chinese one-day weekend, and the Slayers were struggling for numbers until Messi and Parrot chirped that they would play late in the day before the match up. I should also like to mention that Hardon put his name forward at Bashers drinks on Thursday, and had to be reminded that he was playing on match day!

Bashers Slayers Lumberjack, 1 February 2015

Bashers Slayers 57 vs Cape Grape 92 Hot Dogs 111 vs Bashers Slayers 70 A cold, grey day for a brace of ragged Bashers Slayers performances, and Spanner's Stag night the previous day certainly didn't help. G'rilla and Paps had to work, so thanks to Cranky and Hothead for stepping up at the last minute. It was a pretty forgettable afternoon, so I'll focus on the positives:

Bashers Slayers Lumberjack, 18 January

The morning dawned hazy and cold, as Shitshoes, Peking & Messi arrived at the Camel just in time to see Starc claim the first Indian scalp at the MCG before heading off to the Arena. It was an empty & frosty Arena, and we discovered the Hot Dogs were short meaning Malpass & Cummings would play from the Hot Dogs A side. Korean, Sharapova & Long Dong arrived soon after to make up the Bashers Slayers team.

Bashers Slayers Lumberjack, 30 November

After Tank’s critique of the last round’s lumberjack, I hope this is more acceptable. Three Bashers, with heavy heads from the previous night’s End of Season Bash, arrived at the Camel at 11.45am. Peking rode up on his bike, and everyone immediately jumped into a passing taxi, leaving Peking’s keys hanging in the bike lock (later Tantric was able to take the keys out and hand them to the Camel bar staff – cheers Tantric). This shows the mental preparedness of the team – totally focused on the afternoon’s games.

Bashers Pleasure Final Lumberjack – 12 October 2014

The Pleasure squad of 12 arrived early on Sunday morning, fully pumped up for the final, and bolstered by the support of Mouse, Bullet, and Shooter. We were all surprised that the bus driver was a woman, and no sooner did we get on the bus, than our esteemed President sat on one of the boxes of pies, flattening them into a thin combination of pastry, meat filling and sausage rolls.
