This Thursday we’ll be running a trial indoor cricket match in preparation for the league we plan to run at Cages. 7:30pm start — that means arriving before then, ideally 7:15pm or earlier.

Full rules are still being drafted but will be distributed beforehand. They are still a work in progress and those that don’t work well can be changed going forward.

General gist:

  • Bat in pairs.
  • Each pair faces four overs.
  • Each bowler bowls two overs (12 total).
  • Wicketkeeper is optional. Can rotate keepers (must rotate so that all fielders bowl two overs).
  • Wides/no balls not rebowled unless last over of the innings. Two runs for each.
  • Physical run — when the two batsmen cross and make ground in the opposite crease.
  • Bonus run — awarded for hitting back/side walls (see diagram below).
  • You cannot score bonus runs if you do not run at least one physical run off the same ball.

Sign up below, first come, first served. Paid up members will take priority over members who haven’t yet paid fees.

There is only space for 12 players (six per team). Make sure to come and watch if you don’t get signed up quick enough. We’ll hopefully have another run out soon. If anybody from the first 12 pulls out, the 13th to sign up will come in, etc.
