2019 Committee Nominations

The AGM is just over 2 weeks away and we need nominees for next year’s committee.

The positions and core roles are in this document ( roles ) and summarised below:

President – Be a figurehead, lead the committee and club, deal with sponsors and SCC, and make the odd speech. The hardest part is sorting out sponsorship at the beginning of the year, after which you can sit back and bask in the respect and devotion that the position evokes from other Bashers.

Treasurer – Collect and hold our money, keep track of it, and pay for stuff with it. If you make sure we don’t go broke and you don’t lose or steal our cash, that’s most of the job.

Secretary – Take minutes at meetings and not much else to be honest (although Tank basically ran the club from this position).

Social Director – Organise a few social events. If you can keep people involved in the club and not complaining too much you’ve done most of the job, with fundraising a bonus.

Team Captains (Business, Pleasure, and Leisure) – Make sure we have a full team at every game with a full kit and refreshments. Winning the toss occasionally would be good. Tactical genius and accumulating silverware a bonus.

Club Captain – Oversee the captains and make sure they have everything they need to do their job. It’s the position with the most work during the season, but you can put yourself in the team for any game you want.

It doesn’t matter whether you volunteer out of love for the club,  guilt at being a free-rider, passion for committee meetings and rules of order, dissatisfaction with the current regime, or pure thirst for power. Just get involved.
