Its that time of the year again, when the Bashers are completely overlooked as the #1 sports club in Shanghai and a bunch of sailors turn up and pretend that sailing in China is actually fun.
Yes you guessed it, the Shanghai Sports Personality Awards are this Thursday 16th at the Camel from 7 pm.
Please come down and show your support for the SCC Dragons who are up for team of the year. It will be a good night and you can count on the Gaelic football girls getting loose so everyones a winner!
Blazers compulsory!

Happy New Year to you Bashers out there! I hope you all had a great holiday and are ready to hit 2012 for a big old six!
To start the year of with a bang I am happy to announce that with all the hard work we put in last year with Shanghai Roots and Shoots we have achieved the great land mark of 4000 trees and thus we have our very own forest!
Here is a great message from Tori, Zeezee and the team at Roots and Shoots explaining what we have achieved and re-confirming that The Bashers set the standard for all other clubs in Shanghai.
The certificate will be taking pride of place on the wall in the Members End at the Camel and serve as a reminder to all of us that this club is so much more than just Cricket. (more…)
Help!
While you wait for your blazers to be dry-cleaned for next weekend please have a think about Bashers deserving of recognition this year.
We’ll take any suggestions you have, any moments from 2011 which are deserving of acknowledgement.
Have a look at the previous year’s awards (in the sidebar at right) for some idea of some of the traditional awards which need filling.
Have a read through some of the lumberjack reports to jog your memories.
I don’t care, nominate yourself if you want.
To keep things as opaque as possible, please send all nominations through to blog@basherscc.org
Also, any photos from this season, don’t keep them to yourself. Send them in just like you didn’t last year.
do it now!
cheers
Please mark your calendar for the most awaited event of the year, “End of Season Party” to be held in the first week of November. Bring in your wife, partner, friends and family members. Please standby for announcement on date, venue, program details and dress code by Social Director.

Guys, after been led in circles on a wild goose chase, we still don’t know where the Breezer Trophy is being kept. Some THINK they saw it at Camel. Can anyone state when they last saw it, and where. LAMMA CC are visiting this weekend to play for the Trophy, and we need to find it by then. What a debacle…
The SCC has organized a jam-packed weekend of cricket, from the Breezer Challenge and the Santa Fe Sixes to the SCC 2010 Awards night dinner and trophy and a live screening of the ICC World Cup Finals.

We hope there is a sea of blue Bashers blazers out in force on Friday and Saturday nights.
I know you all know this anyway but just for the record here are the winners in the sweep.
The New Zealander’s once again punching above their weight here.
I’m heading to the Camel this afternoon to label up a shipment of VB & Pure Blonde just arrived from the smashing fellas at Just Beer. Pop along to the Camel at your next convenience to collect your winnings – just ask Steve.
Winners (2 Cases each): Spain - Filthy & Sir Dick

Semi-Finalists (half case each): Uruguay, Germany - Omega, Swoop, Cranky & The Korean
Quarter-Finalists (six pack each): Brazil, Argentina, Ghana, Paraguay - Stats, Brokeback, Hedgehog, Queen Mary, Lu, BS, Bugs & Tank

Question 5: BEST SPORTS TEAM. Strangely they have nominated the SCC but used the BASHERS LOGO! YEEEE!
Get involved!
Loose.
Gentlemen and esteemed Bashers,
Sportzvault has since its inception been the bane of the skippers’ existences… The nongmin on the phone in the lift, the mosquito buzzing around you in bed – in other words very annoying.
The SCC have taken over responsibility of updating this system once the scores have been agreed upon by the playing captains and submitted to the Club.
We have now been given a period of a week to confirm the facts and figures in the system before they are logged in for good. So anyone who wants to keep a tally on runs / wickets / catches etc MUST double check their stats in the days following the game. If there are mistakes, let their respective skippers know by the THURSDAY (in email format please) or forever hold you peace.
To make life easier – here is the link for you all – in future, please check the fixed links on the blog
Any further questions – please talk to the voting members of the committee.
Much love,
Stats
