@ DULWICH
Let us know if you’re available.
Guys, please note that Sunday’s game is at Dulwich NOT SRFC-We will depart from The Camel at 7.30. Jimmy.
The final round robin game of the first round found Business (1-2) up against the undefeated K2 (3-0). The very side the Business beat for the title the season before. Heading into the game Business really needed a victory to keep in touch with the play-off spots.
Having beaten K2 three times in a row Business were confident of getting a result if Cpt. Oliver “Stats” Austin could do something he had not done all season, win the toss. With a partner out of country one might think Stats had all the time in the world to master the art of the toss but with a 0-3 record confidence was low. Fortunately with the overcast conditions and a bit of rain in the air Stats was able to call correctly and immediately inserted K2 into the field. (more…)

He is now back in Australia beginning his long road to recovery and we need to show him that we are in it with him for the long haul. Our contributions next Thursday will make a big difference to him and his family.
Next Thursday night will be action packed with a quick-fire quiz sprinkled with great auction items and finished off with our big raffle draw.
You support is required and you can show it in the following ways.
1. be there
2. bring your mates
3. bring some cash to buy more raffle tickets before the final draw
4. bid large on our great auction prizes
I look forward to seeing you there. I will give you a big high five if you bring punters along who are not Bashers.

Gents,
After much deliberation, please see the XI selected to take on K2 this Sunday.
The game is at the SRFC and will start at 12:15, once our Leisure Boys have secured another victory.
That means, we will be at The Camel at 10:15 (1 finger per minute late), so that we can be on the way at 10:30 to support our brethren.
K2 are showing the early season form that was on display last season. We all know what happened after that.
Lets continue where we left off against them, and provide them with their first ‘L’ of the season.
We know to expect an aerial bombardment – so early to bed, so that none of us are seeing double come game time…
Let me know if you are going straight to the ground.
Any other problems – call me on the usual number.
Stats.
Cubans have come back and suggested that the tour takes place in their winter before May as the weather can bit iffy in May & June. So maybe CNY next year. They also mention that New Year’s Eve in Havana is pretty special. They are suggesting a triangular tournament together with the Cayman Islands who also want to tour around the same time so possibility some Bashers can pick up two Intl caps. The tour would be organised through the Caribbean Association to which Cuba belong as cricket is not yet an official sport recognized by the Govt although the Govt Sports Institution would help with logistics. Americans are welcome (Tank:take note).
They tell me decent accommodation for around US$40-50 per head and booze is cheap. Nightlife is “lively” so read into that what you may.
Loose needs to start marshalling the troops when he gets back and give me some date preferences.
Last time I checked we had around US$4K in sponsorship commitments which is a start. This could get quite high profile if we actually go through with it as the Cubans would also want to use as an opportunity to get some press for their cricket.
Never Trust a Cricketer…
Come all ye fair young maidens and harken unto me,
Never trust a cricketer, whoever he may be.
Randier than a sailor who’s been six months at sea,
Never let a cricketer’s hand an inch above your knee.
First, let’s take the pace man, pure speed from first to last!
My darlings, do be careful; his balls are hard and fast.
All three squads up this weekend after a long lay off so get along to training this Thursday.
San He Hua Yuan Tennis Courts, 123 Yanping Road 6pm – 8pm
The Camel after for Argentina – Korea, Greece – Nigeria and France – Mexico

No not a whole evening of questions on Water Closets, although there may be some. No it’s the Bashers Trivia World Cup 2010.
Usually gaiety and cerebral exercise with some big old prizes in a new venue with a Filthy new quizmonster.
Bashers Soccer City located a stagger away from the Camel on Yongfu lu, Number 47, fourth floor to be exact.

Entry will be 100RMB per head again. We’ll be starting early this time so we can try to be done by 1opm when the North Koreans will invade play Côte d’Ivoire (Pothole & Made In v Oscar & Cranky). The Brazilians (Stats & Brokeback) and Portuguese (Ivo & Pusher) might have to watch their match in the gents washroom.
Also of course we’ll be drawing the final winners for the Big Geoff Benefit Raffle so really what possible reason would you have to miss this one?
This is going to be massive!
