A Dark & Steamy Night – Business V Pudong, 28th July

It was a bloody hot day and we won. Much of the pre-match chatter concerned the weather. The mercury was resting at a painful 38 degrees in Shanghai but it felt more like 46 degrees according to various iPhones. So hot was it, that Tango was unsure if they were real conditions. Surely weather this hot was unfeasible. It must all be a dream, a terrible sweaty nightmarish dream. But no, it wasn’t a dream, this was real and Business had 80 overs of toil awaiting them.

Bashers soiled by filthy Doggies

Leisure were narrowly defeated by the filthy Doggies on Saturday, with Basher’s bowling, fielding and batting all lacking that killer edge to take the game away from Shanghai’s canine cheats, who posted a very get-able 155. The captain’s after match comments summed up the team’s feelings. “We was done like a bunch of muppets, we was fackin’ robbed. We’ve let down the gaffer, sorry Tamps.”

Bashers Vs Dulwich….a long time ago on a cricket field not that far away

The signs were ominous when Giraffe’s first three balls of the innings were all dispatched for 4 through long off.  Omega was sent to field out on the boundary only for the next ball to fly for another 4 through square leg.

Getting Down to Business

An impressive bowling and fielding (sort of) performance laid the foundations for Bashers Business to pick up its first win in two years on Sunday, mincing the dirty doggies with two wickets to spare in what wound up a much closer game than it should have been.

Pleasure V Pudong, April 29th

The Bashers that awoke on the fine Sunday morning of the 29th April could be categorised into three groups. The first were the keen, fresh and alert Bashers who spent the previous day meditating and resting up before this important fixture against Pudong. The second group were blurry of eyes and sore of head following an evening of revelry at Parrot’s leaving do chez Cages. The third, and perhaps most alarming, subset of Bashers, were the zombie-like cricketers who arrived for the game in person, if not in spirit following a very heavy (and unsuccessful) tour in Suzhou and the Former President’s party. More details to follow in the tour’s Lumberjack.

8 April 2018, Pleasure v Dynamite Devils

Pleasure came up short against what is usually the lesser of the Devils' D2 teams in a day of disappointment and bloodshed.

Hot Dogs Crucified on Easter Sunday!

Christmas is the season to be Jolly, but Pleasure took the Easter occasion to smear the Hot Dogs with a double load of chocolate SJollyness.
