Leisure vs Dads & Lads

What a win, what a day!... Bashers all the way! So, the day started without any issues, and Leisure and Pleasure were off off together to start what would become our next Bashers Day! :)

PLEASURE LUMBERJACK – BASHERS vs P/POWER (July 8, 2012)

On a day when, in 57 overs only 7 wickets were taken, what can it be??? Good batting, great partnerships, non-penetrative bowling or just sloppy catching????? After a debacle in the last match it was important we picked ourselves up and got back to our winning ways...indeed we did!!

Late, Late, Late Lumberjack!!!!

Pleasure v Leopards (23rd June 2012) As the moon was setting and the sun rising Bashers Pleasure boys were waking in their beds, with a 06:45 bus leaving the Camel and a start at 08:00 hrs it was going to be a looooooong day!!

Tiny’s Business v Devils Lumberjack

The game started in misty rain, and with Bashers bowling first, both batsmen and bowlers faced different challenges. Batsmen have to cope with deliveries that fly off the wet pitch, and bowlers need to manage the wet ball. Two early wickets – fine catches for L’Epa and Hog – suggested the bowlers were winning. The key passage of the match was to follow – Sanjay and Newton put together the only sizeable partnership of the game, and in the final analysis, this was the match-winning period of the game for the Devils.

Business vs Pudong Power – 24th June – Lumberjack

Boy oh boy, did I pull the short straw on Lumberjacking this match. Apologies in advance for a somewhat short review – I think most involved in the game have spent the week trying to erase the 6 hours from our memory…
3rd XI

Bashers Leisure vs Daredevils – Sun 24 June

I don’t think there’ll ever be a Sunday start like this one.  The camel looked decidedly normal from the outside but the sight of SinBad, stickered cap on pointing the way,  swaying in the darkness like some dancing bear on steroids was enough to send any ultimate party animal into hysterics.
3rd XI

Bashers Leisure vs The Hot Dogs – Sun 17 June – Tumbling Records?

On gathering at the Camel in the early hours, a comatose Mexican reveler slumped at the bar showed us the way forward. An uneventful bus ride later, we gather by the pitch under looming clouds. Captain informs us the oppo are practicing in the nets, sending a flutter of apprehension through our minds. Leisure is a team, lest we forget, in which donning spikes as footwear is considered "intimidating", not to mention bothering to practice beforehand.
2nd XI

Bashers Pleasure vs Dynamite Devils-May 20 2012-Bashers came second-Just!

Firstly, a huge apology for such a late match report-no excuses, except when we lose I have less motivation to record the details of the day.

Business v Daredevils (Re)match Report

Way back on the 3rd of June the Business headed out for a re-match with the unbeaten Daredevils. The Devils hadn't been beaten since July last year in Division One and made sure everyone knew about it. There was a lot of pre-game banter going into this one but fortunately we had Sanjay's 6's meltdown to fall back on!

THE NANJING’ WALL EXPERIENCE

Today the 600-year-old city wall of Nanjing still stands. Different from ancient city walls in Beijing and Xi'an, its design and construction was unique and changed the old ways of equilibrium and symmetry. The construction concentrated on military defense because the city was at the foot of a mountain—a natural barrier to control the commanding elevation with the river as its natural city moat. Because of this, the 60-square-kilometer Nanjing city became strategically located and difficult to reach.
