Bashers on the Road Challenge

Thanks to the Bashers who contributed - although Bashers kit was a bit sparse. Apparently Pope had a slightly dubious link with his cap. S.S.

Indoor Season set to start 3rd November

UPDATED: Thanks for those who have expressed interest in regular or occassional play in the Indoor league over the winter:

Sharapova features in BBC article

Our very own Chinese national captain, Sharapova, featured recently in this article on the BBC - nicely spotted by Post-Op and Dags!

Business vs Pudong, 4th August 2013

Preliminaries The Business looked like it needed some players so I made myself available mid-week, but by Saturday night the squad had 12 players and it looked like I would only be required to film from the sidelines and occasionally bring out some iced drink from the chilly bin. So I almost reluctantly packed my kit on Sunday morning, and made my way to the Camel for the 10.30am timeline. I found only a few Bashers at the bar, and Filthy furiously calling first one, then another, Business players to scramble an eleven together.

Farewell Leisure

Leisure, After playing 19 matches with the best and most fun Bashers team in the SCC leagues over the last 3 years, scoring nearly 300 runs at a pedestrian pace, taking 3 of the luckiest wickets as a slow-medium pacer imaginable, and somehow winning the championship in 2012, the party is now to be postponed. The wise heads in the Bashers selection panel have decided that I should no longer be eligible to play in the Leisure. Instead I've been locked into a D2 Tour of Duty to help the club through a difficult time.

Leisure vs Dulwich Lumberjack for 2 June 2013

the Leisure made it two wins in a row on the weekend by demolishing the luckless Dulwich side at Dulwich.

Pleasure vs SCA NForcers, 30 April 2013

Rain was forecast, and light rain was falling when the Pleasure team assembled at the locked Camel at 7am. Sinbad managed to call Steve, who arrived soon after to allow us to get the kitbag. The Leisure was admirably represented by Dags (and Coco), Woodstock, Shitshoes, and Spanner, but somehow, despite Woodstock’s inclusion in the playing eleven, there were no pies… or beers on the bus!

The Highflyer

The first SCC Newsletter of the modern era was emailed out to 256 signed up SCC members over the weekend. But after talking to a few Bashers at training last night - some of you may not have been on the email list. The aim of the newsletter is to bring the SCC together as a club, and it will have useful information about events, tours, match reports, etc.

Forget about it!

Two painful defeats yesterday, but a good post-match discussion at the mini-Camel (despite water dripping out of the light fittings)... The Jaguar was probably the only Basher to exceed his high standards, and overall, the team bowled outstandly well in the first match, but did not perform with the bat and it was all downhill in the second game, where Tubby had a personal nightmare (despite arriving with the most outstanding Bashers hairstyle of the season).

Final Match Report of 2012

Daredevils Digital 54 vs Pleasure 66 It was a great team effort by the Pleasure this week to dominate one of the better teams in the league. Since I use the bowlers in standard 2 x 2 cover formation I can give the bowling partnerships:
