On a blazing hot March Saturday the Bashers took to the field to take part in the annual Gaelic Football tournament for beginners.
After being told the rules by our three Irish ringers we got under way by bagging our first win against the strong AFL team courtesy of a stunning goal by Fruitbox. We then narrowly lost to Team China (who arguably were breaking the rules by playing with far too many experienced players). We carried on by winning the rest of our group games with some great defending by the likes of Pope, Stats and Tinder and some clinical attacking and scoring by Fruitbox and Cassius. We finished level with the AFL team but lost the coin toss to decide who would play in the grand final against Team China. This put us in the plate final which we easily won securing our first piece of silverware of the season!

Great evidence of a great day. It slipped past me on the day - but AMAZING to see Pope & Sharapova in his&hers bandanas... Very sweet.
