Another successful night with some young upstarts upsetting the reigning champions.

It’s that time again Bashers. The Prof has pondered on his trivial life and scoured his vast collection of inconsequential knowledge and composed a testing quiz for us.

Venue as usual will be the Sticky Wicket Bar out the back of the Big Bamboo and start time will be about 7pm. just after 8pm.

Entry will be 100RMB per head with recommended team size of four.

The Prof has come up with a new format including WIldcard sections for extra strategy and excitement - all will be explained on the night.

Following the success of our previous event and to allow some sharpened minds to exact revenge another Quiz evening is planned for the first week of the olympic games. It will all happen on Thursday Night at the Sticky Wicket bar up the back stairs of Big Bamboo. Many many prizes and much joviality to be had. Cost of entry is 100RMB per head. Recommended optimum team size is four pax. All friends, colleagues and family are welcome. Please RSVP via comments here so we have some idea. Start time is approximately 7:30pm. Be there in plenty of time to get a feed before and warm up your brain after a dulling day at the office.

In addition a tailor will be in attendance from around 6:30pm to take measurements for Bashers Blazers.

And shouting is over. This is not a post about State of Origin, that comes elsewhere. There was a lot of bravado and many disputes and at times the whole thing more resembled an Ice Hockey game than friendly competition. And why wouldn’t it? There was prizes at stake, not to mention quite a few reputations after much crowing. In the end old hands Woodstock and the Chooks took top honours (a case of home-delivered just beer each) with ease. The tussle mid table was riveting and tense though as seen below.

We’ve saved this one up for a while! Now here it is - the Basher’s Summer Trivia Fiesta. Start Sharpening your brains now - you have until Wednesday (The culmination of the Bashers Big Day Out). Make up some teams (no more than 6 pax) and enter in the comments below - or enter yourself and we’ll marry you up on the night. Space is limited! Venue is the Sticky Wicket Bar (out back at the Big Bamboo) and there will be prizes from the Boo and some mystery prizes from Just Beer as well. Admission is 100RMB per head with proceeds going to buying practice balls.

The Quiz will start right after the State of Origin Decider around 8pm or so ! 

Game starts at 5.45pm

Mark Your Calendars for next Wednesday 2 July. A Massively competitive golf excursion to 9 Dragons Course. Expressions of interest are encouraged in the comments. Tee off from around 11:30, meeting the Bamboo Bus at the bamboo at 10am. The bus will then return you to the Bamboo for an awards session (Yay prizes) and the Bashers Summer Quiz! Big Day!

We need you to confirm in the comments below by FRIDAY 27th so we can arrange group tee off times and a bus .

Cost for golf is RMB 690 and may cover bus if enough come otherwise , Bus will be split between those who come .
