The SCC also thanks outgoing Excom members who have contributed their time and efforts in recent years – Jon Newton, Darren Burns, George Kapitelli, Sanjay Anugula, Mike Tsesmelis and Andy Scott. 4. Sichuan School Sports Day 2011

    13 October 2011 to 16 October 2011

As usual given the total lack of interest from the hieracrchy of Shanghai Cricket (except Bashers) to support the school in Sichuan outside help has been organised. Last time Japan Cricket stepped up to the plate. This year both the Xiamen Typhoons and the Chengdu Pandas have committed resources to drink Zhou Hua dry and help organise the sports day for the kids.  The visit will coincide with the October rugby fest in Chengdu on Oct 15th. We will hit Zhou Hua on the 13th and the do the sports on the 14th. Pat Man from Xiamen and I are bringing our kids. Although this is early notice don’t complain you did not know the dates…. Wayne, Pat Man and Bundy Boy are already confirmed.  Any Basher with a business in Chengdu (Dipso) and who has a property in Chengdu (Dipso)  is highly encouraged to come along.

One small complaint from Pat Man re the cricket event in late October.  He rightly questions the Bashers PR team. Last weekends rugby event was a huge success but on the front pages of the Xiamen newspapers and on the TV interviews the girls rugby players were featured.  Xiamen press is big in athletic young ladies rather than baldy captains/Presidents so the question is whether or not the Bashers will provide the Xiamen public with what it wants needs to be addressed.

Also note that Pat Man is working on the Xiamen Typhoons signing up to Million Trees and playing rugby in Ku Lun Qi next April.
UPDATE (by Latex)…… I think this is all the Xiamen public need!

  7. BASHERS Representation in SCC – Your Nomination is needed!!

    Dear ALL,

finally it is upon us where the SCC becomes an entity for the clubs….

The positions in the SCC are serious as we need people committed to making the club grow and willing to help out. So although many might feel that one or two are suitable, they need to realize that there is commitment required and its not just something to not take seriously otherwise we end up having the SCC become a joke again.

This is the change we all been waiting for so if any of you feel that there is a position you might want to run for or feel that someone could be best suited for, please let me know. Currently there is only one person guaranteed on the 2011 excomm, I would sure like it if we had another.

There are only 7 voting positions and Pudong have 2 with their president and Bernie rerunning for Secretary, Kapitelli has resigned otherwise they would have majority 3. Devils are pushing for the President role too, so that means if we cannot compete , they will have 2 also on the committee leaving 1 slot left (treasurer) for a Basher to get in otherwise becomes really tough to pass any changes.

So lets see if we can get anther eligible candidates to run.

    Regards
    Commitee
