SICS 08 Bashers Games

Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008 by birdshit
19 September 2008
11:40 amto12:40 pm
20 September 2008
10:40 amto11:40 am
4:00 pmto5:00 pm

The first draft of the draw has been approved (apart from the anti-basher who is never happy).

For THE FIRST TIME EVER no first thing in the morning games for the Bashers. We do however have Scoring duties for the very start of the tourney on Friday am. We need capable scorers, umpires and some people to operate scoreboards which can be done by monkeys so there’s opportunities for everyone.

The Bashers are in the Shoes Group.

First Game vs Murava Presidents VI (including Heals) at 11:40am Friday

Second vs The White Knights (Merv) at 10:40am Saturday

Third vs CBB at 4:00pm Saturday

Finals - Sunday

Now i’ve highlighted the game times but of course most action occurs off the pitch and everybody is encouraged to spend the whole weekend at the ground enjoying the sun and some quiet beverages.

The full draw (draft) is available here (UPDATED).

so who is and isn’t available to play the tournament?

It’s coming down to it now and we’re putting the pieces in place. Always one of the toughest hurdles is Scorers and Umpires. I’m putting big pressure on the other clubs to step up this year and i hope i can rely upon the Bashers again showing the way. Basically we need as many of you as possible to put your hands up NOW and say “yes i can count and i’d be happy to give a few hours of my time during the tournament to make it run nice and smooth” Anyone with black pants who knows a thing or two about cricket is welcome to do some umpiring. Come on guys don’t be shy - lets show these other freeloaders how to rock this.

Last Night On The Loose

Tuesday, August 26th, 2008 by birdshit
29 August 2008 6:00 pmto30 August 2008 11:00 am

His Royal Looseness Lapthorne LXXXVII is being whisked away next week to Italy (why don’t they get any medals in diving at the olympics?) for matrimonial duties.

So This Friday is our final opportunity to get LOOOOOOOSE before the screws go on.

Festivities due to kick off at the Shed and go on and on and on

Stats will be at the Shed to collect from anyone still owing for their Blazers

UPDATE: Itinerary thanks to Santa;
For Dean’s (Lapthornes) aka Loose Loosington’s bucks party, initial details are as follows.
Kicking off from 6pm at The Shed. Lane 210 Taikang Lu. Most of you know where it is. If not, ask Dean.
At The Shed, there will be the Aussie Rules Footy on TV, the BBQ will be spitting out Burgers, Snags and steaks, whilst the Pie Oven will be full of pies and sausage rolls. It’s help yourself to the Beer, Pies and BBQ until about 9pm. Cost here per person is 100rmb, all you can grab.
At about 9pm, we grab taxis and head to the ‘Boo. There is a keg on for us in the back room. All chip in for this (I will collect money at The Shed), and we suck that keg dry.
Once the keg is dry, we move on down to Tongren Lu for the Beerlympics. Starting at that joint to the left of Blue Frog, we work our way down as far as we can. One beer in each venue (to be paid for separately). All bars except Annies are on the list (I am not handing over any money to them bastards).
Let the Looseness begin!
