Bashers Pleasure vs. the Leopards
24 April @ Dulwich
With the sun finally shining, the much-delayed Bashers Pleasure season got underway with a combination of new-comers,returnees and last season’s stalwarts.
Skipper Bugs won the toss and chose to bat opening up with recent Hard Dogs signing, Shaun ‘Golden Shears’ Lear and Gary ‘Pothole’ Dubberley. They found the going slow against an accurate Leopards attack and Golden Shears parted for a duck, completely missing a well pitched up straight one. Pothole and returnee Tony ‘Badabing’ Finnochiaro kept the score ticking over without ever managing to truly break free from the bowlers grasp. (more…)

On the sun-baked field of Dulwich on April 27, 2008. A bunch of unlikely lad’s did the unthinkable and wrote themselves into the history books. It was a tremendous day for the club that shall always be remembered. Firstly, the Div 1 team winning and then the Twenty-20 side following up, by chasing down a competitive total in the final over versus I can’t remember.
So let’s celebrate.

Shanghai Cricket Hope Elementary School Opens in Sichuan
School Visit Report by Ainsley Mann
The 2008 Sichuan Earthquake saw an unparalleled response from the Government, Corporate and NGO sectors as well as private philanthropists. However not many sports organisations were able to mobilize themselves in the way the Shanghai Cricket did, a fact made all the more unusual by cricket’s almost unknown status in China. Shanghai Cricket’s endeavors finally bore fruit this month when the Si Pan Village Elementary School formally reopened. The school also carries the name of Shanghai Cricket Hope Elementary School in recognition of the partnership between Shanghai Cricket and the China Youth Development Foundation’s Project Hope rural schools programme.
