Bashers Cricket Club

Rested, the team returns to the Jaguar Club for Pasta, Chick Peas, Italian Sausage & Lemon Chicken. 

Of course there’s plenty of Jibber-Jabber on cricket and quite a measure of controversy.

Special guest on “Steaming in From the Members End” is ex-Queensland player and Scotland coach, currently in Rotterdam with the Dutch National Side, Peter Drinnen.

The usual rif-raf are there, along with Hillsy, Woodstock and of course the Jaguar and his Mexican mafioso crew all with plenty of dodgy innuendo.

You need to listen to this one for a report on the recent Japan tour and all you need to know about the upcoming Nanjing trip.

Sunday saw the Grudge Match take  place at Dulwich College.
Having parked the bus, erected the tent and settled ourselves for the game – Stats managed to lose the toss (again) yet still manage to set the Bashers up for a chase, with Ben ‘the Skipper of the Hot Dogs’ Goodwin opting to bat first.

An invitation has just come in via Cricket Shanghai from our recent visitors Beijing CC.

To summarise;

They’re having a sixes tournament in July. Shanghai has been offered two spots. Gravity hopes to send a Dragons and a Pirates team.

Registrations close at the end of this month so if you’re interested please indicate as so below.

The tournament starts on the Friday and finishes up on Sunday at Dulwich College, Beijing. Obviously there are the usual array of social activities you’d expect at an event such as this.

Sounds like a good trip.

This was a very tough selection, with some difficult decisions to make. On the flip side – there is competition so no-one can rest on their laurels…

The game is on Sunday, and will start at 12:15.
There will be a bus leaving from the Big Bamboo at 10:30 to ensure everyone is at the ground by 11:30 to establish Bashers Corner and to warm up. 
Whites and Blazers is the attire to wear to the ground please.

After a couple of weeks of rest and recuperation, it is time to get the cricket cranked up again.
This weekend sees THE grudge match of the season, as Anti-Basher and his motley crew of Doggies look to do one over the League Leaders in Division 1.

Training will be at the same time (6-8pm this Thursday), at the same place (San he hua yuan) and will be followed by the same format after (beer at the Bamboo).

Massive weekend, so looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Kicking off from around 7:30 tonight will be the Bashers CC/Masala Art Curry Cookoff – 150 RMB for a feed to put the rest to shame.

Come on down for a delectable dance with Shanghai’s finest Indian cuisine. I’ll be there – and won’t be eating all day as I’m looking at getting my 150 RMB’s worth. BOO YAA!
