\"\"<\/a>Following the Earthquake in Japan, the Japanese cricketers lead by Ema Kuribayashi\u00c2\u00a0are doing what they do best and that\u00c2\u00a0is trying to bring a smile back to the faces of the people impacted by the Earthquake\u00c2\u00a0particularly the kids. Between July and December this year they plan to introduce 25,000 kids to cricket in the Earthquake impacted areas by holding fun coaching clinics somewhat modeled on our own Sport For All programme in Shanghai.\u00c2\u00a0 They need equipment and some cash but again true to form they are not asking for a lot.\u00c2\u00a0 They would like as many cricketers around the World to wear the “Cricket For Smiles” iron on patch on their cricket shirts with each patch\u00c2\u00a0been given in return for an RMB 80 equivalent donation.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0

\nIn 2008 the Japanese cricketers and their sponsors\u00c2\u00a0stepped up big time for our own Sichuan Earthquake appeal and last year\u00c2\u00a0 Japan Cricket’s CEO\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0joined Woodstock,\u00c2\u00a0 Badabing and myself on the visit to the school in Sichuan.<\/p>\n

\u00c2\u00a0Their Cricket For Smiles appeal has just been launched so it would be great if the Bashers could once again lead the way (Globally) by perhaps having team captains getting the players from each team to commit to a Cricket For Smiles patch and maybe Cranky could ask other clubs to participate (I now know from a previous post Anti Bashers reads the blog). I’ll consolidate donations from Shanghai, Xiamen and Beijing so maybe if team captains etc could let me know if their teams will support this appeal. Many thanks.
