Special Olympic Trivia

Following the success of our previous event and to allow some sharpened minds to exact revenge another Quiz evening is planned for the first week of the olympic games. It will all happen on Thursday Night at the Sticky Wicket bar up the back stairs of Big Bamboo. Many many prizes and much joviality to be had. Cost of entry is 100RMB per head. Recommended optimum team size is four pax. All friends, colleagues and family are welcome. Please RSVP via comments here so we have some idea. Start time is approximately 7:30pm. Be there in plenty of time to get a feed before and warm up your brain after a dulling day at the office.

Summer Trivia Fiesta Results

And shouting is over. This is not a post about State of Origin, that comes elsewhere. There was a lot of bravado and many disputes and at times the whole thing more resembled an Ice Hockey game than friendly competition. And why wouldn't it? There was prizes at stake, not to mention quite a few reputations after much crowing. In the end old hands Woodstock and the Chooks took top honours (a case of home-delivered just beer each) with ease. The tussle mid table was riveting and tense though as seen below.

Around the World in Nine Beers

It was quite the training session last night. It wasn't my idea and not even my intention until I was already half way, but what a lovely journey I had.I'd worked up quite a thirst from the toughest training session in quite a while and I think it must have shown as I walked through the parlour of the Shed. Roadkill was quick to the draw and a James Boags Premium was soon tucked snugly in it's stubby cooler. After a few gulps, of what is a perennial favourite of mine, I greeted my fellow Bashers (VI, XXXIX, I, XIV and XCIII were early starters). The Boags was good, fresh Tassie, nuclear free tap water, an old friend, like that spot in the couch with a bit of a dip.
