After Hoggy’s guide to speaking like a Yorkshireman I thought id update you all on our sporting excellence….
Yorkshire athletes have now won 10 medals, with more contenders still left to come. This tally places the Peoples Republic of Yorkshire 10th in the medal table above minor former penal colonies such as Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Geoffrey Boycott was unable for comment after spending the night partying with Usain Bolt and the Swedish women’s handball team, but former cricket umpire Dickie Bird, from Barnsley, said the realisation that Yorkshire was currently beating Australia in the medal table was a tribute to the region’s “absolutely brilliant” athletes.He said: “The Yorkshire competitors have done absolutely brilliant”.”Yorkshire folk are wonderful, wonderful people known for their hard work and sheer Yorkshire grit which has pulled them through.”

The Peoples Republic of Yorkshire has won gold in Mens Triathlon - Alistair Brownlee, Womens Heptahlon - Jessica Ennis (hot!), 2 Rowing Andrew Triggs + Kat Copeland and 1 Cycling Ed Clancy. 2 Silvers in cycling, 1 rowing and Bronzes in rowing and triathlon.
