Update:
Down to the business end. Some of you may have already won, including some wooden spoon prizes perhaps. Only Latex knows.
This weekend sees the following match-ups
As Drawn Thursday 1 September 2011.
Due to a technicality Filthy’s final entry was redrawn.
Stay tuned for prize information.
So here we go, first quiz of the year and its shaping up to be a big one. To co-incide with the first match of the World cup we are going to show off our huge mental ability and other wonderful pub based talents.
We will have some great prizes on the night and the draw for the World Cup sweep stake. The Camel’s kitchen will be serving up a special Indian curry just for us so we can all get in the mood. Also Sinbad has offered to do us a traditional belly dance as the half time entertainment, can’t wait.
So lets see a show of hands below for teams and lets make this a big start to the year. Any potential new players are also more than welcome so they can see us in action off the pitch.
Get there nice and early and get a feed into you! (more…)
Check out the attached, just hover cursor over the team, date, ground etc,…can track England through to the world cup final after their crushing victory in the Ashes (well will be tomorrow)!!!

The New Zealander’s once again punching above their weight here.
I’m heading to the Camel this afternoon to label up a shipment of VB & Pure Blonde just arrived from the smashing fellas at Just Beer. Pop along to the Camel at your next convenience to collect your winnings – just ask Steve.

Semi-Finalists (half case each): Uruguay, Germany - Omega, Swoop, Cranky & The Korean
Quarter-Finalists (six pack each): Brazil, Argentina, Ghana, Paraguay - Stats, Brokeback, Hedgehog, Queen Mary, Lu, BS, Bugs & Tank
hope this little comp added extra spice to the event for you, we’ll definitely look at doing something similar in the future.
I will endeavour to be at the Camel this Thursday night myself to collect outstanding entries;
Pothole, Swoop, Loose, Swahili, Mrs Pusher, Mini Pusher, Gary Glitterus, Whipper, Inquisition.
If you go to a football game in a strange land, get drunk and fraternize with the locals always advisable to use a pseudonym.
No not a whole evening of questions on Water Closets, although there may be some. No it’s the Bashers Trivia World Cup 2010.
Usually gaiety and cerebral exercise with some big old prizes in a new venue with a Filthy new quizmonster.
Bashers Soccer City located a stagger away from the Camel on Yongfu lu, Number 47, fourth floor to be exact.

Entry will be 100RMB per head again. We’ll be starting early this time so we can try to be done by 1opm when the North Koreans will invade play Côte d’Ivoire (Pothole & Made In v Oscar & Cranky). The Brazilians (Stats & Brokeback) and Portuguese (Ivo & Pusher) might have to watch their match in the gents washroom.
Also of course we’ll be drawing the final winners for the Big Geoff Benefit Raffle so really what possible reason would you have to miss this one?
This is going to be massive!
Amongst the madness of the Expo Quiz there was a draw for a world cup (the soccer one in SA next month – you may have heard of it) sweepstakes. The following coughed up some cash and this is the teams they got assigned. They’re all in line to win some Just beer! I see some fierce rivalry coming up at the camel over this but it’s nice to see how this may help sooth some cross-tasman tensions.
STOP PRESS! MORE BEER!
Draw number two is out – we got some last second entries and filled the full quota of 32. Read on for the results…
