Bashers,

As the title to the post suggests – three things to highlight… (I am not clever enought to insert links though):

1) Training – Fingers crossed the weather will hold, and for the first time in around a month, we will be able to get some solid practice in.
Nets are booked for Thursday – same time, same place (6-8pm, SanHeHuaYuan) – be there to get our eyes in for an important weekends practice. Lets all try and make it down

2) Pub Crawl – Further to Loosey’s post – there is an epic game of Pub Golf that will be taking place on Friday from 18:30. Let Deano know who is locked in – 18 holes to be played around 6 of Shanghai’s most scenic ‘courses’ – you know you want to…

3) Double Header Sunday – still spaces up for grabs – please let us  know your availability  for the double header (more info to follow)

Sunday sees the annual Santa Fe 6’s competition.
Due to the fact that the Bashers are the heart beat of the SCC, we have 2 teams in the competition.

We will be having our first ever Bashers Monthly bowling evening where the all
bashers,friends and their families are encouraged to join in and have a great night out together as a family club
There is a Pappa John’s next door and they deliver Pizza, the bowling alley serves drinks so its a great evening for all.
We have had a few people show interest but now we need to have confirmed names
for Tuesday.

Guys, Gals and Deano(aka Gaylord),

We will be setting up a Bashers Bowling league in the comming days. So far the idea seems to have interest so we are now  looking for players from all genders, Deano included. This is a great way to get together and socialize with a little excercise for all those associated with the club who dont enjoy sitting at a bar……..

We can make this bimonthly event or weekly depending on the responses and willingness. The bowling alley is in Hengshan road so easily accesable to all, There is a Pizza restaurant next door (have confirmed already allowed to bring in pizza) drinks are cheap and atmosphere great.  So if your interested in having fun for all, let me know.

Each teams consists of 4, so perfect for 2 couples or 3 + Deano…..

so get cranking and get your confirmations in.

Something was made in this weeks Broadcast of embracing new sports and opportunities abound tomorrow.

As if the Sheraton Showdown boxing wasn’t enough! Starting a 8am at the Big Bamboo in Nanyang Road (actually it’s in Detroit but you know what i mean) is the final game of the 7 game Stanley Cup Finals. That’s Ice Hockey my friend. This would be an excellent opportunity to support our Bashers secretary Andy “Tank” Scott who has endured many a state of origin or rugby test match with us. Also a fine chance to charge up on testosterone for the evening.

The Magnet has informed me that The Shed is open tonight for the Rugby League test match between Australia and World Champions New Zealand.

The Magnet is also putting on a drinks special on our sponsors drinks [JUSTBEER.CN] …he mentioned 100 RMB all you can drink excluding Boags, so that’s a bloody good deal!

After much discussion and strategising from the committee, we can now announce the 2009 Subs. They are exactly the same as last year. So that means 2000 RMB for every Bashers member (pleasure or business), payable in cash to Oliver ‘Stats’ Austin ASAP please. For this, you get:

•  All your games fees (both business and pleasure will be playing c. 10+ games this season)
• All buses to and from the Big Bamboo on all game days
• All the beer and water in the Eskis on the bus
• Upto date equipment for all games (pads, bats, gloves etc)  
• Your official 2009 Bashers shirt – see attached images
• Your official 2009 Bashers Cap
• Membership of the Shanghai Cricket Council
• A ticket to the Shanghai 6’s dinner in October (tbc)
• A very active social calendar
• An end of season function
• Plus some other stuff I can’t remember

So please get your cash into Stats asap – starting this weekend.

We understand for new members that they may just want to test the water before they part with 2000 rambos, so for them we allow new players to pay 150 RMB cash per game for their first 3 games. This includes any games already played so far this season. Please note that we have never had anyone just play the trial games and then not join the club!
