2012 Nanjing 6′S – Living the Rural Dream!

The date is set, the disco ball has been dusted off and its time for the Bashers to board the train to Nanjing!

Put Saturday June 9th in the diary. The Bashers will be putting in 2 teams as usual.

The plan is to head down to Nanjing on Friday 8th after work to acclimatise to our rural surroundings and enjoy the warm and hazy hospitality of Jimmys. The action starts early on the Saturday morning with a great line up of 6′s talent. Our friends from the Pudong Power and the Xiamen Typhoons will be joining us along with the Bogans and Nongmin to round out what will be a great day.

There will be the option to head back on the saturday evening if you are involved in the SCC game on the Sunday but otherwise we will be enjoying the Saturday night in Nanjing and heading back to Shanghai early afternoon on the Sunday.

This is a great event and was enjoyed by all last year.

The hotel will be around 600rmb a night for a twin room. Please bring along friends and family but let me know so we can organise the train and hotel.

Please post availability below. Hopefully we should be primed for this 6′s coming of the back of the league 6′s a couple of weeks earlier.

Just got back from the island with silverware in hand. The Coke Bashers won! Beating Pudong Power in the last game of the day which was the tournament decider. The Kooka Bashers won the Basher on Basher match on the last ball by 1 run. Lumberjack and more pictures to follow! Great day!

Xiamen 666′s team selection

The tournament of the year is almost on us!

All touring plays need to be at the Camel next Wednesday 26th at 19:00 for the team selection. For this competition we have the COKE Bashers and the KOOKA Bashers representing.

Please confirm below that you will be there on Wednesday as i will be going through the details to make sure you turn up at the right airport and all that stuff!

Get working on your Halloween costume as we need to represent at the party on saturday. Shrek, you can come as yourself seeing as you are f@£king scary already!

Xiamen Halloween 666s

Here are more details for what is shaping up to be the event of the year.

The touring party from the Bashers, Pudong Power and Nanjing Disco Ducks stands at 57 currently so we are defiantly going to make an impact!

This is what the weekend is looking like so far

Thursday 27th

Advance party arrive in beautiful Xiamen around 20:30 and go to the hotel for check-in then head to the Londoner for a few quiet drinks…..

Friday 28th Day

20/20 or beach cricket for the earlier arrivals during the day.

Friday 28th Night

The Disco ducks arrive late afternoon and the remaining Bashers and Power players get in later in the evening.

The Ducks and the Thursday arrivals will head out for dinner with the Xiamen guys and then head to the first Halloween party of the weekend. The Friday arrivals will be collected at the airport, checked in and then join the main group at the party.

Make sure you come equipped with halloween costume as both the Friday and Saturday party are encouraging costumes.

Saturday 29th

Bright and early we will make our way out to Gulangyu Island to the venue for the Xiamen 666′s. Bar, BBQ , blimps and guest commentators will be on hand for what is guaranteed to be an entertaining day of 6′s cricket!

There is an event polo shirt being produced which will feature the event and team logos. This will cost 150rmb but I need to know specific order qtys early next week. Please post below what size you want based on this size chart. It would be great for both Bashers teams to wear as team shirts for the event so commit now!

Saturday evening we will head to the beach venue for another epic Halloween party and take on the Tequila Sunrise challenge.

Sunday 30th

Recover in the morning and head to the airport after lunch.

SCC Tour to Hong Kong

The SCC Dragons and Pirates are due to tour to HK on 3-4th September to play the Centaurs.

50 overs Opium Bowl match scheduled for Saturday, and a 20/20s game for Sunday morning.
Shanghai Cricket Club are the current holders of the Opium Bowl.

If you’re interested and available for selection for either the Dragons or Pirates please let me know.

Hong Kong Cricket Club confirmed to play SCC at SRFC on weekend of 19-21 August, 2011.

The SCC Dragons will play the 50 overs Bokhara Bell Match at 10.30 on Saturday (near ground), and on Sunday the SCC Pirates will play a 20/20 at 10.00am.

The Bokhara Bell is currently held by HKCC and we’d love to win it back. If anyone is interested in being available for selection for either or both of the Shanghai representative sides please express your interest below. Be specific about which games you are available for.

In addition your attendance at tour functions and games would be most welcome regardless of whether you’re playing or not. We want to generate a real team spirit around the SCC rep teams as they represent everyone one of us who play cricket in Shanghai.

Bangkok Int Cricket Sixes

This years Chaophya Park Hotel Thailand (Bangkok) International Cricket Sixes Tournament 2011 will be held at the “Harrow International School” in Bangkok, from Friday the 21st of October until Sunday the 23rd of October 2011.

The Chaophya Park Hotel in Bangkok is the Title Sponsor & the Official Hotel Partner for the event in 2011. The Official Room Rates this year for teams and everyone involved with the tournament are:
# Room Rates are 2,200 Baht Single & 2,400 Baht Twin/Double, which includes breakfasts.

Team fee’s have been set for up to 8 players per team at 25,000 Thai Baht. This includes the Tournament Functions, Transport to and from the ground each day from the Chaophya Park Hotel, a tournament Shirt, Cap and Souvenir Program, the actual tournament costs, Event Trophies and more.

If we cannot arrange a full team still consider going, and you can be matched up with a team for the event.

Hong Kong International Cricket Festival 2011 – Cricket Sixes Tournament will be held at the “Kai Tak Cricket Ground” in Hong Kong from Friday the 25th of November until Sunday the 27th of November 2011.

The Eaton Hotel in Kowloon is the Official Hotel Partner for the Hong Kong Festival this year. The room rates for this year for teams and those involved with the tournament are:
# Room rates are at HKD1000 (Single) and HKD1100 (Double) plus 10% which includes breakfast per room.
Information on booking details will follow once your place in the tournament has been confirmed.

Team Fee’s have been set for up to 8 players per team at $7,000 HKD. This includes the Tournament Functions, Transport to and from the ground each day from the Eaton Hotel, a tournament Shirt, Cap and Souvenir Program, the actual tournament costs, Event Trophies and more.

Any interest below please. Bear in mind that the SCC may be taking one or two teams as well.

Ok boys and girls, lets get this moving. We need to start getting flights and hotels nailed down. If you haven’t posted your interest below already do it in the next week.

You just need to cover the flights up front and then everything else is settled up when we’re down in Xiamen. Flights are just under the 2000rmb mark right now.

Don’t really need to say again how good this trip is but i will anyway!

The guys at the Bogans are literally as wet as an otters pocket about this weekend and have good numbers committed already so we need to man up and commit.

I am just bumping this back out to everyone to remind you that we need to start getting firm commitment for this tour so we can work on the travel and accommodation. Please add to the comments if you are up for this great tour!

Its back, the bashers event of 2010 is shaping up to be bigger and better than last year!

The Typhoons have confirmed Saturday 29th October for their Sixes. A 6 team event (inc two Bashers teams and the Bogans) and Bashers also been challenged to take on the Typhoons at Baseball in a special challenge and a offer of 30 over game on the Friday for anyone wanting an extra day on Gu Lang Yu. Also this co-incides with Xiamen’s end of year beach ALL NIGHT Halloween party on 29th.

The hotel will be Asia Gulf although possible option to stay on Gu Lang Yu on the Friday night in one of the cool hotels there, garden party in the grounds of one of the old houses and slowly drift into the land of Zen as most people on the island do on a Friday. Saturday lunch option for the Geishas at the Swire house like last year. Families welcome. As usual Typhoons superb hospitality the whole time. If Bashers want their own blimp flying high above Gu Lang Yu need about a months advance notice.

Also Sinbad will receive his honorary Typhoons award for still being the only person from Shanghai in any sport that has drunk through the night with the Typhoons on their turf. Travel logistics definitely not my area so I think Latex will start sorting out things out with Committee etc although Dags offer of a plane charter sounds interesting with Cranky and/or Woodstock at the controls.
