Two Bashers Sides have been entered. Get your name in now!
Everyone (especially Geishas) welcome to come down. This is always a good day and a fine opportunity to fraternise with all of the Shanghai Cricket community.
Go ahead and check out the official draw or just know that matches start at 9am with 14 teams on two brand new pitches at our new new home in WaiGaoQiao. It’ll end at the end of the day.
Rumesh Ratnakye http://www.espncricinfo.com/stats/content/player/50249.html has invited (2nd hand) the Bashers to the Colombo Sixes to be held August 17th through 19th.
From what I understand this is the inaugural event. A Bashers team perhaps?
Vague expressions of interest below please…….
CC Filth
The Shanghai Cricket Club is organizing two teams (Dragons and Pirates) to tour Hong Kong for the Hong Kong Cricket Festival on 3-5 December. As the Bashers are not sending a team down this year, any Bashers wishing to join the Hong Kong tour should contact Andy “Tank” Scott.

Game two will have a curry off between the teams:
“1. Instead of Beer we will be using balti dishes full of chicken phall
2. If you drop your guts or blow chunks immediate disqualification
3. On completion the Balti dish must upturned on the head in traditional boat race style
4. There will be conveniently located bathrooms for both teams in the event of a mass evacuation.”
Apparently they will be having a trial run this weekend in Chengdu when they play the Pandas.
Bring some spare undies or in Jag’s case some spare speedos. Could get messy.
Guys the time is almost upon us again and we need expressions of interest for attending this years event. Last year we lost to the eventual tournament Premiers by just 2 points! (before being relegated out of contention for the finals but winning the drinking instead.)
Its bound to be a rage, and we hope to do a much better this year. It is close to the date of the Xiamen event, and also to Christmas, so we need to check if we have the numbers. If you would like to come, or if you are a past regular who can’t attend, please make yourself known on the blog. Meanwhile, I look unlikely to make it due to work commitments, so if you can put your hand up for Tour Manager then please also let me know. I will provide details and contacts and support in the organizing leading up to the tour.
This event is part of the Asian Cricket Sixes Tour – for more info please access HERE for details.
