While Terror Turner was nervously awaiting the most important delivery of his life , and Loose Losington confessing to a life time of rampant premarital sex and masturbation, the remaining Bashers were focusing on the seasons marquee event , The Shanghai Coca-Cola International Cricket 6s’

Match Report

We lost, enough said. We couldn’t chase down the 201 they scored, being bowled out on the last ball of the innings for 130 odd I think. Can’t remember now, had too much rum last night.

Match Report - Bashers CC v Tongji University

Twenty20 Match Report:

Bashers CC v Tongji Uni, 15th June 2008

Rain, extra strong coffee, a tent in the middle of the field and a thieving little Bangladeshi ring-in were the lasting memories from the Bashers battle with Tongji Uni. But first….the news!

Flying at the speed of sound down the airport expressway like we were trying to out run the rain, Captain Loosey rallied his troops with a prep talk which was fuelled by 4 colds beers and a spinach & feta meat pie. We were ready, we were pumped and by the time we got of the Big Bamboo Booze bus we were ready to go to toilet; the booze was already kicking in!

20-Twenty vs Dare Devils Match Report

Monday, April 28th, 2008 by Loosey

After a long Saturday night and an even longer off season, the Bashers Twenty20 side finally headed into bat on Sunday and came away with an emphatic victory over the Dare Devils. After a first-rate tactical meeting and solid warm-up on the Big Bamboo Booze bus (pies and sav rolls courtesy of Kooka Pies), there was an air of expectation amongst the Bashers faithful that nothing short of a win would do justice to the team.

Bashers Defeat The Dong!

Bashers vs Pudong (April 27, 2008)

Denzyl won the toss and elected to bowl first in the early morning start.
Excellent early bowling spells from Samir and Denzyl saw the Bashers on top in the early exchanges restricting Pudong to 61 for 4 at the half way stage. With temperatures rising the concentration levels wavered a little and Pudong managed to reach a respectable 162 all out after 32 overs.
Sheyan and Sanjay opened the batting in response, and were immediately in their groove, putting on a rapid 79 off 12 overs. Sheyan was happy playing second fiddle to Sanjay who was timing the ball beautifully and carting the bowlers to all corners with a cultured, aggressive display of hitting. Ollie and Sanjay came in and provided support to the run chase (along with Mal - who provided a reminder of the Bashers of old with a disputed first baller) reaching the target with just under 10 overs remaining.
Mentions should go to Denzyl, Samir and Sunny in particular for very  probing spells, and to Sanjay who ended just short of a maiden century on his debut (96*).
Thanks also to Sanjay Anugula for finally making an appearance for his team of choice.

Captains XI Slain By Giant John

Sunday, April 16th, 2006 by birdshit

John L’Epagniol produced a record breaking bowling perfomance in the SCC Selection match on April 16 of 8/22 from 8 overs including a hat-trick. The scorers are still finishing up the sheet but everyone assumes that the Presidents XI won comfortably. Congrats John - you might have just squeezed your way into the Dragons side to play Lamma during the May Holiday.

Bashers v Hotdogs 27 March 2005

Sitting at my desk with the biggest smile on my face in years, pondering what the anti-basher and his team mates have to say for themselves today after getting whipped by a depleted Bashers team still trying to find some form this season. (more…)

2005 Season Warm Ups - Bashers v Hot Dogs

Sunday, March 13th, 2005 by terror

As the eternal rivals arrived at the field the temperature had reached a sizzling and sunny 5 degrees, well above the prediction of 0 degree.

Under new skipper Ian Syer and vice captains Steve Aikman, James Gooding and 2015 skipper apprentice Ed Molony, all of the Bashers turned out early for a net session that displayed their vigour and worth.

The Hot Dogs were slow on arrival and many of the usual faces from last year were working, traveling or injured. The bun had arrived without the sausage. However there had obviously been heavy recruiting done in the off season and the innocent faces of new dogs “Pups” showed up in numbers and took instructions from resident dog, Mike Tsesmelis, who was carrying an injury that has yet to be diagnosed. The Bashers, ever mindful of a wounded dog were keen to start the season (albeit a scratch match) with a victory against the team that had caused so much pain and anguish to them the previous year.
