In the morning there is a cricket match with many Bashers past and present taking to the field in both playing and umpiring rolls.

It would be great to get as many Bashers out there to support the Swire team for what will be a great day of Sport.

Depending on numbers we will put on a bus leaving from the Camel at 08:15. this bus will be coming back into town after the cricket and well in time for the activities the Social director has planned for the afternoon.

There is live entertainment at the ground as well as all the activities for the kids so this one is for all the family.

Here we go!!! The date has been set, the back room of the Camel has been booked- all we need is THE BASHERS!!! We would like to start off the season rounding up all the Bashers team members (Business, Pleasure and Leisure) for a little get together at The Camel this Friday the 24th- 25 RMB Drinks and some snacks will be on offer! This would be a good time to:-

1- Get everyone together after a while and back in the spirit of things (in case you don’t make Bashers drinks Thursday nights)-Did I mention 25RMB drinks??? PISS UP!!!! YAY!!!!!
2- Discuss the new league set up and changes
3- Introduce new members and recruits for season 2012 (bring along any potential players for 2012)
4- Discuss the Bashers Card (and the benefits received with it)- will be received by all paid members
5-Talk about the “COCK of the WALK” (to be done by Latex coz I have no idea what that is!)
6- Design tactics and strategy for the upcoming season
7- Show off to your respective captains and try to bribe them to select you (I think Filthy is the best!!! hahaha!)
8- PAY OFF YOUR SUBS!!! PAY OFF UR SUBS!!! PAY OFF UR SUBS!!! We would really like to collect the player fees a little early this year and would appreciate if you would so kindly bring your 2000 Rambos to get this out of the way! Anyone who pays up this Friday will receive a free 6-pack of BEER!!! YESSSS!!! FREE BEER!!!!

Sorry for the delayed post as us Social Directors have been flying all over the place!

We have something special this time around- there will be a scrumptious XMAS BUFFET on offer. This will start at 7pm and go on for about an hour and a half (MENU to be confirmed…I will post it on the blog in a bit but think christmasy!!!). The buffet will be 120 Rambos per head.

This will be followed by some trivia (with special guest host Philip Mildenhall) that will leave yall mind boggled… So come on over. Bring your sharpened minds, families, friends, significant others, and even random strangers! Try and spread the word round! There will be plenty of prizes on offer (hopefully not all ending up in the Korean’s home!) with the special prize being one minute of “frolic and fun” with Latex under the mistletoe…

The crew from PubCrawlShanghai are throwing a massive Sports Bash on the Huangpu River with free flow beer, cocktails and live band/DJ… Should be a cracker as the who’s who of Shanghai sports will be present! The night starts off with a pre-party at our very own sponsor “THE CAMEL” and moves onto the Huangpu (I’m on a boat) for some shenanigans before ending at a VIP party somewhere on the Bund (I think ZEAL).

Tickets are 250 Rambos and include all of the above with transport (except the cocktails which are 35rmb). Family and friends are invited. Guys this is a great way to rep the Bashers and the Shanghai Cricket League- they want us over so bad they’ve even reserved a table for us already on the boat! Fall Sports Boat Cruise:
The Fall Sports Boat Cruise, held on November 25th, 2011, is a great way for teams to bond, meet other athletes and sports enthusiasts around Shanghai and enjoy a ride down the river while listening to a live band and drinking free-flow beer and discounted cocktails. Dates and friends not affiliated with a team are more than welcome to join us for this fun and memorable evening that will set the stage for valuable networking opportunities.
Each league attends a pre-party at a sponsoring venue from 6-8pm, where a bus picks up participants and transports them to the boat for a two hour ride down the Huangpu from 9:15-11:15pm, bringing them to a VIP after-party to end the night in style.
The cost for the party is 250rmb per pre-sale ticket or 300rmb at the door (discounted packages of 20 tickets per team are available for 4,400rmb). Each ticket includes bus transportation to and from each pickup location, flow beer during a two-hour boat cruise and 35rmb mixed drinks, live band and DJ.

Here are more details for what is shaping up to be the event of the year.

The touring party from the Bashers, Pudong Power and Nanjing Disco Ducks stands at 57 currently so we are defiantly going to make an impact!

This is what the weekend is looking like so far

Thursday 27th

Advance party arrive in beautiful Xiamen around 20:30 and go to the hotel for check-in then head to the Londoner for a few quiet drinks…..

Friday 28th Day

20/20 or beach cricket for the earlier arrivals during the day.

Friday 28th Night

The Disco ducks arrive late afternoon and the remaining Bashers and Power players get in later in the evening.

The Ducks and the Thursday arrivals will head out for dinner with the Xiamen guys and then head to the first Halloween party of the weekend. The Friday arrivals will be collected at the airport, checked in and then join the main group at the party.

Make sure you come equipped with halloween costume as both the Friday and Saturday party are encouraging costumes.

Saturday 29th

Bright and early we will make our way out to Gulangyu Island to the venue for the Xiamen 666′s. Bar, BBQ , blimps and guest commentators will be on hand for what is guaranteed to be an entertaining day of 6′s cricket!

There is an event polo shirt being produced which will feature the event and team logos. This will cost 150rmb but I need to know specific order qtys early next week. Please post below what size you want based on this size chart. It would be great for both Bashers teams to wear as team shirts for the event so commit now!

Saturday evening we will head to the beach venue for another epic Halloween party and take on the Tequila Sunrise challenge.

Sunday 30th

Recover in the morning and head to the airport after lunch.

  So here we go again. Its that time of the year to dust of your running shorts and get involved.

  

  Last year a brave bunch of Bashers took to the starting line with varying levels of training miles under their belts and pounded down the roads of Shanghai on a beautiful winter’s morning and showed how piss easy it is to knock out a half or full marathon!

  This year the date is December 4th giving you exactly 113 days to get your shit together. Please show interest below, we will get training groups going in the next few weeks probably tagging onto one of the HASH runs like we did last year.

  This is a great event and everyone that took part last year not only enjoyed the day but defiantly enjoyed the post race drinking!

  We will also be getting the biggest looser sweep stakes going again with a weigh in taking place once we know who the runners and riders are.

  Don’t be shy, your mother wasn’t!

  My friends, you might want to be sitting down for this. ‘Tis a crushing blow for decency and morality everywhere. Dragon Club, after hours club of myth and fable, will be closing its doors permanently at the end of this month. Apparently, the restaurant portion of that enterprise, Colabo will be asuming the space, and just like that, with a puff of sulfur smoke, Dragon Club will cease to exist.
