Yes indeed… It’s about time we show some love to our sponsors and revive the THIRSTY THURSDAY traditions. It’s been a long week so y not come over and have a pint in preparation for the weekend ahead!
Practice- yes Prrrrractice…. For our next Bashers’ event- Bashers Xmas Carolling! (I know u Bashers have some beautiful voices!!!)
Tis the season to be jolly… So let’s get into the spirit of Xmas.. Come over for some drinks and some banter! Come warm urselves up in this cold, depressing weather…. brrrr!!!
Is there any cricket on? Who cares? It’ll be good to see u all. Maybe we’ll even end up playing the river!
Alrighty Boys and Girls- it’s that time of the year … Our final quiz of 2011- THE BASHERS CHRISTMAS QUIZ!!!
Sorry for the delayed post as us Social Directors have been flying all over the place!
We have something special this time around- there will be a scrumptious XMAS BUFFET on offer. This will start at 7pm and go on for about an hour and a half (MENU to be confirmed…I will post it on the blog in a bit but think christmasy!!!). The buffet will be 120 Rambos per head.
This will be followed by some trivia (with special guest host Philip Mildenhall) that will leave yall mind boggled… So come on over. Bring your sharpened minds, families, friends, significant others, and even random strangers! Try and spread the word round! There will be plenty of prizes on offer (hopefully not all ending up in the Korean’s home!) with the special prize being one minute of “frolic and fun” with Latex under the mistletoe… (more…)
Alrighty Bashers!!!
The crew from PubCrawlShanghai are throwing a massive Sports Bash on the Huangpu River with free flow beer, cocktails and live band/DJ… Should be a cracker as the who’s who of Shanghai sports will be present! The night starts off with a pre-party at our very own sponsor “THE CAMEL” and moves onto the Huangpu (I’m on a boat) for some shenanigans before ending at a VIP party somewhere on the Bund (I think ZEAL).
Tickets are 250 Rambos and include all of the above with transport (except the cocktails which are 35rmb). Family and friends are invited. Guys this is a great way to rep the Bashers and the Shanghai Cricket League- they want us over so bad they’ve even reserved a table for us already on the boat! Have a look below and let me know by the end of the week if ur in or not and I can help sort out the tickets… It should be great preparation for the SCC AGM the next day! DO IT!!!! (more…)
Here are more details for what is shaping up to be the event of the year.
Please mark your calendar for the most awaited event of the year, “End of Season Party” to be held in the first week of November. Bring in your wife, partner, friends and family members. Please standby for announcement on date, venue, program details and dress code by Social Director.
So here we go again. Its that time of the year to dust of your running shorts and get involved.
Last year a brave bunch of Bashers took to the starting line with varying levels of training miles under their belts and pounded down the roads of Shanghai on a beautiful winter’s morning and showed how piss easy it is to knock out a half or full marathon!
This year the date is December 4th giving you exactly 113 days to get your shit together. Please show interest below, we will get training groups going in the next few weeks probably tagging onto one of the HASH runs like we did last year.
This is a great event and everyone that took part last year not only enjoyed the day but defiantly enjoyed the post race drinking!
We will also be getting the biggest looser sweep stakes going again with a weigh in taking place once we know who the runners and riders are.
Don’t be shy, your mother wasn’t!
If you’re stuck to the sofa just follow the bashers as they train.
My friends, you might want to be sitting down for this. ‘Tis a crushing blow for decency and morality everywhere. Dragon Club, after hours club of myth and fable, will be closing its doors permanently at the end of this month. Apparently, the restaurant portion of that enterprise, Colabo will be asuming the space, and just like that, with a puff of sulfur smoke, Dragon Club will cease to exist.
Oh, the lovely regrets we all shared and created in that place!
End of an era, Shanghai. The beast is dead. The beast is dead…
Bowling is on tonight!
See you there at 7. Its on the 4th floor so take the elevator that is inside the main entrance on your right.
Tuesday, May 24th at 7pm
Orden Bowling Centre (3rd floor behind the big pin on Hengshan Lu)
Across Hengshan Lu station (Line 1)
Here are more details for Saturday. We will be heading out from the Camel at 18:00 so get down there a bit earlier for a few beers to calm the pre race nerves.
We will then head up to http://www.stampedekarting.com/ Basement Section C, Bailian Shopping Center, 1288 Zhenguang Lu, 真光路1288号C区地下室.
If you are going to go direct let me know.
The deal we have is use of a vip box, and for every 3 races/ person we buy they will give us 2 tsing tao beer. Each race costs 85rmb so 2 races should be enough and maybe a final for the fastest out of all of us. that should bag us 20 or so beers to get us started and the bar is reasonable there.
So far I have about 10 people from the list below. Please make sure you add your name below so I can pre warn the track.
Once we get there and have sorted out the tickets we should be racing every 15mins or so over about 2 hours so we should look at being done around 9-10ish.
I will decide tonight after talking with everyone if its worth heading to Teppanyaki but we will defiantly head back in to carry on the drinking.
Lets get ready to rumble!
Two Bashers Sides have been entered. Get your name in now!
Everyone (especially Geishas) welcome to come down. This is always a good day and a fine opportunity to fraternise with all of the Shanghai Cricket community.
Go ahead and check out the official draw or just know that matches start at 9am with 14 teams on two brand new pitches at our new new home in WaiGaoQiao. It’ll end at the end of the day.
