SCC CC
Monday now sees the SCC have the SRFC Near pitch for the day. We will have two 20/20 fixtures. These fixtures act as trials for future Pirates squads.
Game 1 starts @ 10am
Game 2 starts @ 1pm
Monday’s SCC fixtures will be open to all and every member of the SCC. However they will be picked more as a reward to those who have given time and effort to the SCC over cricketing ability.
Please post below if you are available to play and I will pass them onto the SCC.
The teams will be announced on the blog on Friday afternoon.
If possible we will name four squads.
This Wednesday head over to our good friends at Kakadu between 4pm – 10pm for the annual Anzac Day BBQ. Great food, great beer and great people.
Training is on as usual this Thursday.
We have been getting a great turn out the last few weeks so come down and have a knock.
With two important games this weekend there will be some tough competition for places.
Try and make it down to drinks even if you cant make training.
See you all on Thursday.

Shanghai’s biggest boxing event is back for round VI. This time Brawl on the Bund hosts its black-tie evening at the Kerry Hotel in Pudong, where 16 fighters will slug it out in front of an audience of almost 1000 people. Tickets include a four-course dinner and beer, wine or champagne if you’re ringside. Part of the money goes to charity, this time to Leo’s Foundation, which helps newborn kids in China with respiratory failure.
Starts 7pm.
Tickets
The innermost tables in each category will be sold first, ie, those closest to the ring. So, for the best seats, buy early.
Tickets can be purchased in groups of four or six, or as a one table of ten. For fapiao, a 5% surcharge will apply on the total amount.
The Fighters
16 Fighters to be announced in the two weeks before the event. Returning champions currently in training include: Dave Hurst (BOTB V), Jamie Gerrard (BOTB V), Tim Muse (BOTB V), Adam Thurland (BOTB IV), Paul Gray (BOTB I), Nichole Bradford (BOTB II)
Leo’s Foundation
The Foundation for Newborns with Respiratory Failure was established in 2008 in memory of Leo Spirit who was born three months prematurely and were cared for by the staff at Fudan Children’s Hospital. Leo passed away in November 2007 due to respiratory failure and the Foundation was set up by Leo’s parents Scott and Cecile Spirit to help fund families unable to afford the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit facilities at the hospital.
We might be getting some tables- the more the MERRIER…. and the more tables we will rep at the event!

This is an oppertunity to show our love and support to one of our great sponsors and be part of sporting history.
This rivaly dates back 100 years and embodies the sporting history of Shanghai.
In the morning there is a cricket match with many Bashers past and present taking to the field in both playing and umpiring rolls.
It would be great to get as many Bashers out there to support the Swire team for what will be a great day of Sport.
Depending on numbers we will put on a bus leaving from the Camel at 08:15. this bus will be coming back into town after the cricket and well in time for the activities the Social director has planned for the afternoon.
There is live entertainment at the ground as well as all the activities for the kids so this one is for all the family.
Please post below if you are going to make it for this
