Gents,
We are now at the proper pointy end of the season – the last game before the Play-Offs and Finals.
Destiny is in our hands. Victory sees us through, defeat and our fate is in the hands of other results going our way.
Lets seize the day – or as the illustrious Romans might have said ‘Carpe Diem’.
The games will be taking place at DULWICH COLLEGE – not the SRFC!!!
Game starts at 12:15, so please lets get to the Camel at 10:00 for a 10:15 departure.
This will ensure we get there early enough to support the Leisure boys as well as warming up.
Big game – so let’s aim to be wide eyed and bushy tailed…
Any questions – call me – 1376 137 01255.
Any complaints or prank calls – phone Cranky.
Gents,
With the Shanghai Dragons gearing up for their tour of Beijing, they have asked the Clubs in the SCC to raise a team to take them on in a practice match this Sunday.
It will be a good opportunity to take on a team consisting of:
Sanj, Jon, Mike, Hunt, Deepak, Jasim, Phil (Basher), Nigel (Basher), Bernie, Waqar, Jasim, Aravind
Good to get them to gel as a team – but also an opportunity to vent any grievances at being snubbed by the selection committee and to put a strong performance in.
Any takers?
A faultless display from the Bashers Business Boys sees us regain the top-spot in Division 1 with just one game remaining, with a performance that saw us gain full bowling and batting points.
In a game of many firsts, it should be noted that:
- No one was late for the bus
- The Driver did not get lost on the way to the ground
- The Skipper did not lose the toss
- No one bowled a wide
- No one dropped a catch
- Nobody got bowled
- And most amazingly – Sinbad did not throw his toys or complain about batting number 11…
You get the general idea…
Unfortunately Pudong pulled out of the game on Saturday evening as they had seen the strength of the Bashers XI due to face them (courtesy of this fine website) and only 5 volunteers were prepared to face the heat of a near full strength squad in the mild 36 degree humidity.
On the plus side – the Bashers roll continues – 5 victories in a row – and a good result against the Doggies in September will see us in the Finals.
Afternoon Gents,
Apologies for the delay in getting back to you – been running around like a blue arsed fly today.
Team announcement for the big game against Pudong on Sunday:
Big game – need to go large on the points scored.
It is a 12:15 game at the SRFC – as such we will be meeting at the Camel at 10:00 sharp for a 10:15 departure.
This will allow us to get lost and still have time to warm up.
The pre-match focus before the last game was spot-on and translated into a very effective performance, with bat, ball and just as importantly in the field. Lets do it again.
As usual – any nice comments - call me on 1376 137 0255.
And if anyone wants to complain or whinge – call Denzyl.
Sinbad – what do you put in your nuggets to make them so devilishly delicious?
Gents,
Having stated last week that we had put out our strongest team, I can say that with confidence again…We are reaching the pointy end of the season, chasing our 4th consecutive victory, and I am delighted to announce this squad:
It is a 13:00 start at the SRFC, so we will meet at the Camel at 10:30. Sinbad – aim to get to the Camel at 10:00 – you might be on time then…Hopefully we will have a driver from China this week who knows how to get to WaiGaoQiao…
Will be another scorching day – so make sure you all hydrate before bedtime on Saturday, and wake up full of beans…
As always – any questions – buzz me on 1376 137 0255
Gents,
We have a very strong looking team this weekend, and should be looking forward to being able to give K2 another tough game:
It is a 12:30 game at the SRFC. We will meet at the Camel at 10:15 (not 10:16… 1 finger per minute late as normal)
Our catching last time was atrocious! So when we get to the ground – lets focus in on the game and warm up properly and with focus…
Any constructive comments/questions etc - contact me 13761370255
If you need anything organized – contact anyone other than Phil, Denz or Hadleigh
See you Sunday boys!
Owing to a slight organizational hiccup – we only have the nets from 7pm this evening.
Please take note – and if you have any problems or need to vent any fury – please contact our Club Skipper…
See you all at 7pm
Gents,
We are entering Round 2 of this years competition. First up – a rematch against our friends at K2.
The game is this Sunday, 18th July, at the SRFC. Match begins at 12:30.
Please state availabilty below:
Gents,
We are officially on a roll now, let’s build on it and make it 3 on the trot whilst also putting one over on The Camel’s smallest cricket club…
The game is a 13:00 start. We are playing at Dulwich, which is nice for the WAGs, the non-boozers and the non-smokers.
We will meet at the Camel at 11:00 for an 11:15 departure…
There will be a one finger fine for every minute past 11:00, doubled for every minute after 11:15.
On a more serious note – our fielding was terrible vs K2. 10 dropped catches and average on the ground as well.
We won last year because of the support our fielders gave the bowlers – taking catches and generally building pressure through-out the game. Lets focus on getting that back.
Unless you hear from me – the game is on…
Call 1376 137 0255 with any questions.
