Bashers Business vs K2 18 July 2010 Lumberjack report
It was a bright blue sky that greeted the Bashers Business team as they made their way to the Camel for a 10.15am sharp departure to the SRFC to take on K2 again. Sir Dick managed to be on time but Sinbad was 15 minutes late. Not bad considering he had 2 hours kip.
We set off at 10.30 in plenty of time, only for the muppet calling himself our driver to get lost. 90 minutes later, we got to the ground after several stops for directions, a couple of reverses down a motorway and much swearing from the angry kiwis at the back. (more…)

Suited and beauted for the 6s dinner
Not only will we be the only club with our own blazers for the 6s dinner, but we will also have our very own club tie (thanks to Hammer and a few others – you know who you are). In the club colours of gold with a repeated Blue Bashers crest.
To make an impression at the dinner, we would like to suggest that we all try and stick to a club uniform of:
1. Bashers Blazer (for those that have them)
2. Bashers Tie (will post a picture later, but in the words of Chewie ‘they’re boss like’)
3. White shirt (yes with collars & sleeves, Loosey)
4. Blue jeans

Ties will be available on Saturday afternoon when (we hope) Danny Morrison will present them to all available Bashers. All at the bobby bargain price of RMB50. If you can’t make the 6s on Saturday, but want us to bring you a tie to the evening, let us know here.
See you tonight for some Kiwi ‘humour’.
Cheers

Shanghai Int 6s Team Selections
Guys,
We have had unprecedented response for the 6s, which is awesome. Not only do we have 15+ lads wanting to play, we also will have more guys at the dinner than Pudong / K2 combined. Its been tough trying to juggle the desire to win the 6s for the first time / participating in Bashers style / rewarding those who volunteered to umpire & score / taking Friday off work etc etc. We also have Danny Morrison requesting to play with us, which should make the whole weekend even more of a blast (listen to Podcast number 3 for a taster of things to come). -
Curry at Masala Art Friday 11 September
Guys / Girls,So far:
- Dipso + Mrs Dipso
- Bugs
- Paps (tbc)
- Stats
- Circus
- Birdshit
Anyone else?? Need to confirm numbers in advance. They prepare a selection of veg / fish / chicken / lamb etc in advance, so that when we sit down we’re ready to rock. Extras on the night, whilst welcome, rather screw up the restaurant planning.
Let me know ASAP.
Cheers

Hong Kong 6’s Cricket Festival 4 – 6 December
Bashers & Gashers / Geishas,
Advance warning of the HK Cricket festival 6’s for 2009, hosted by our very good friends, Lamma Cricket Club. The dates this year are: Friday 4 December to Saturday 6 December.
2008 saw the Bashers send a team overseas to our first ever international 6s tournament. According to the one member of the team who can remember anything past the first evening, apparently everyone had a great time. We even managed toplay some pretty good cricket, losing a couple of very close games including a 2 run loss to the tournament finalists. Other highlights included our Pres. being named best player in the Spoon competition and JC playing for the opposition and soundly beating the Bashers!
Please check this website for some details and photos of last year. (Worthy mention goes to photo No.0536 where the esteemed President does a combination impression of Divinyl & Right Said Fred – perhaps a new nickname?? and to photo No. 0574 where the very elegant Bashers put everyone to shame, incl. some gypsy in a brown tracksuit).
http://www.hkcricketfestival.com/index.htm
At this stage, we are just trying to gauge numbers. Please let us know if this is a tour that would interest you by the end of August. This is a Bashers tour – so everyone welcome. Further details to follow as they come. Please note you are not bound by anything once you show interest.
If for some reason we cannot raise a team, then HK 6’s will have to ask a different less popular team (such an any with Mike T playing in it). No one wants that.
Cheers
Dipso
