Tis the season to be jolly… So let’s get into the spirit of Xmas.. Come over for some drinks and some banter! Come warm urselves up in this cold, depressing weather…. brrrr!!!
Is there any cricket on? Who cares? It’ll be good to see u all. Maybe we’ll even end up playing the river!
Alrighty Boys and Girls- it’s that time of the year … Our final quiz of 2011- THE BASHERS CHRISTMAS QUIZ!!!
Sorry for the delayed post as us Social Directors have been flying all over the place!
We have something special this time around- there will be a scrumptious XMAS BUFFET on offer. This will start at 7pm and go on for about an hour and a half (MENU to be confirmed…I will post it on the blog in a bit but think christmasy!!!). The buffet will be 120 Rambos per head.
This will be followed by some trivia (with special guest host Philip Mildenhall) that will leave yall mind boggled… So come on over. Bring your sharpened minds, families, friends, significant others, and even random strangers! Try and spread the word round! There will be plenty of prizes on offer (hopefully not all ending up in the Korean’s home!) with the special prize being one minute of “frolic and fun” with Latex under the mistletoe… (more…)
Yo guys!!! Check this out… the peeps from PubcrawlShanghai are organizing a big Boat Cruise party for all the sports teams in Shanghai. This looks like a cracker of a night as it starts with a pre-party at our very own “EL CAMEL” and moves over to the Huangpu river (I’m on a Boat!) with a “happy ending” at a VIP party on the Bund (I think…). Tickets are 250RMB and includes free flow beer and all that jazz. Have a look below and let me know if ur in by Monday so we can start organizing tickets (family and friends all invited!). BRING IT! (more…)
Alrighty Bashers!!!
The crew from PubCrawlShanghai are throwing a massive Sports Bash on the Huangpu River with free flow beer, cocktails and live band/DJ… Should be a cracker as the who’s who of Shanghai sports will be present! The night starts off with a pre-party at our very own sponsor “THE CAMEL” and moves onto the Huangpu (I’m on a boat) for some shenanigans before ending at a VIP party somewhere on the Bund (I think ZEAL).
Tickets are 250 Rambos and include all of the above with transport (except the cocktails which are 35rmb). Family and friends are invited. Guys this is a great way to rep the Bashers and the Shanghai Cricket League- they want us over so bad they’ve even reserved a table for us already on the boat! Have a look below and let me know by the end of the week if ur in or not and I can help sort out the tickets… It should be great preparation for the SCC AGM the next day! DO IT!!!! (more…)
With all the talk this weekend of “PLANKING“, “OWLING”, “TEBOWING” and “HORSEMANING” (If u have no idea wat these terms mean look it up!) it’s about time we get some Bashers “BLAZERING” in…
Wat’s that you ask? “Blazering”- Acquire Basher’s Blazer… Wear Blazer… Find appropriate (or inappropriate!!) location and strike a pose (funny face, Captain Morgan stance, thumbs up, beer in hand watevaa!!!) and click away… The more exotic the location and pose the better!
Take a pic in ur Blazer at the local Kedi Store, on the Metro, in the Bar, in Cranky’s office, heck even in the Loo!!! Just dont forget to post it on the blog! But here lies a challenge to the Bashers- I know many of us travel all over the place so it would be great to see how far and wide the Basher Blazer can travel (I’m takin it to Japan next weekend!)… Wat wud be even cooler is finding some random person (preferably a hot babe!!!) to don the Legendary Basher Blazer and gettin a pic of it (Pat the Dog lead the way earlier this yr!!!)
SO ??? Challenge accepted!!! (Yes it’s been a slow day at work!) Let’s see how far we can go with this… U may never know- it mite become the new internet FAD…
Examples to follow (look up Xiamen Blog!).. Get Amongst it!!!
LONDON — Talk about super-sizing!
For the 2012 London Olympics, fast-food giant McDonald’s will be building its biggest restaurant ever.
The 32,000 square-foot, two-story facility will have seating for 1,500 hungry spectators – and athletes.
It’s one of four temporary McDonald’s to be constructed for the Olympics, including one in the athletes’ village.
The biggest challenge for McDonald’s? Logistics.
“A lot of work goes into making sure we have enough ingredients on hand. But we have done a great job in the past managing these massive event,” said Melissa Daly, a communications supervisor for McDonald’s.
“Training the crew is another challenge, but we will have the best of the best workers coming to work in London,” Daly added.
The fast-food giant will also select 2,000 of its top employees – its largest Olympic team ever assembled – to serve at the Games. About 1,800 will come from Great Britain, the other 200 from restaurants from other nations. The “brand ambassadors” will have the chance to meet the world’s top athletes and attend events.
McDonald’s, which has been an Olympics sponsor since 1976, hopes to serve more than 1.75 million people during the 29 days of the Olympics and Paralympics.

With the snow and cold outside come on over to “EL CAMEL” and have a pint or two to warm urself up! You can also try your hand at Filthy’s new “drinking game” (guaranteed to get u THERE) or “inventing a new Basher shot” (also get’s u a lil rattled up)…

Anyone out at The Camel tonight to satisfy the THIRST?
Plus I hear Thursdays is now Ladies Night at The Camel- WOOH!
Greeted once again with a fine sunny day (well almost) the Bashers set out to THE CAMEL to beat those “Darn” Devils at the SRFC and extend the winning streak to 4 (has this happened before?)! For once all team members managed to assemble at the Camel on time (even a sober Sinbad!) barring Dipso (who set his clock 10 minutes back) and debutant Nigel “Campo” Shroff (we’ll cut you some slack this time). The only question was whether it would be another adventure getting to the ground… (more…)
