Now that the 2010 cricket season has officially turned into somewhat of a circus, its time the club got backs its roots and got amongst it. The world cup is over and August is poised to be a right off for cricket so lets get social.
Dates to keep in the diary and just lament on until further details come to hand. (more…)
Bashers have been called of a lot of things in their time, but athletic was never one of them.
In the name of getting in to a little bit of shape and undoing a few seasons worth of alcohol abuse, the Bashers will be entering into the Shanghai Marathon. (more…)

UPDATED
Dear Bashers,
Thursday the 1st of July from 6:30pm we will have our next fund-raising evening for big Geoff. He is now back in Australia beginning his long road to recovery and we need to show him that we are in it with him for the long haul. Our contributions next Thursday will make a big difference to him and his family.
Next Thursday night will be action packed with a quick-fire quiz sprinkled with great auction items and finished off with our big raffle draw.
You support is required and you can show it in the following ways.
1. be there
2. bring your mates
3. bring some cash to buy more raffle tickets before the final draw
4. bid large on our great auction prizes
I look forward to seeing you there. I will give you a big high five if you bring punters along who are not Bashers.
Please register your attendance below. please note non-attendance and non-mate bringing is a heinous crime and will be punished with the full force of the law.
Time: 6:30pm
Venue: The Camel
Book in the date, it’s all on like Donkey Kong.
Its quiz time again with your seasoned bemuser MC – Birdshit for brains.
Prizes on offer – once I get myself together. you can also feel free to ring me and offer if you have anything.
Excellent
And just like that, summer is here and jeepers had I forgotten what it felt like. In the interest of keeping you healthy at this time of the year its important you stay hydrated and what better why to load up on fluids for summer than the Kakadu BBQ. Not only are they throwing on all you can down beer for 4 hours but like a good responsible host its an all you can eat BBQ too. And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, its only 99 RMB per Geisha Basher. If you want to bring a random punter for Loose to recruit into the Leisure side then it will only cost them 140 rambo’s.
Also, the Bashers tailor will be there to measure up the new lads who would like a blazer.
And you can also pick up your Kakadu – Bashers card, hand pressed on-site to give you your 20% friends of the Bashers discount.

On the sun-baked field of Dulwich on April 27, 2008. A bunch of unlikely lad’s did the unthinkable and wrote themselves into the history books. It was a tremendous day for the club that shall always be remembered. Firstly, the Div 1 team winning and then the Twenty-20 side following up, by chasing down a competitive total in the final over versus I can’t remember.
So let’s celebrate.
Date: Tuesday 27th 2010
Venue The members end @ The Camel.
27 minutes past eight we will be upstanding to two shots. Be there from 7.
Shots are on the house – thanks to the camel. The banter, tom foolery and chasers are on you.
See you there.
In the grand tradition of cricket in Shanghai, the Devils are inviting the Bashers to an Indian buffet/IPL party on Saturday night, beginning at 8 p.m. with a huge spread of kebabs, curries and free flow beer and soft drinks ahead of the 10 p.m. third place IPL playoff match. Wives and children welcome. (more…)
Fellow Bashers,
Filthy, left not entirely satisfied from round one of getting married to Squeaky in NZ, is doing it all again in the back sticks of who knows where, BF Idaho, China
Plan:
May 1- we all play cricket (meantime Expo opens and shanghai goes silly like a bum full of Smarties)
May 2 – We go to Filthy’s Wedding (Shanghai doesn’t play cricket but Bashers go silly on Baijiu )
May 3 – Government sanctioned Bashers rest day (Shanghai still wonders exactly what has opened)
Most likely plan of attack is transport to wherever we are going on Sunday morning. I suggest train because its most likely quicker and secondly we are much less likely to die.
Can you let me know a) if keen, b) if you would like to stay the night on the Sunday.
Details to follow. in the meantime ask yourself – When was the last time you went to a authentic Chinese wedding? and in the words of Rick Martin – “do you really want it?” – lets hope its the last time I have to quote him this year.
Sir Dick – Social Director
Dear Bashers,
As the President has previously mentioned to you we will be entering into the dawn of a new era in 2010 with a new major sponsor.
The Big Bamboo has been a great supporter of the Bashers over the years. Especially in the early days when we were a bunch of drop-out drunkards – a far cry from the sophisticated demeanor we present to today.
The Bamboo will continue to have a place in our hearts and be a place visited by us socially in future. However, as a club we would like to say farewell, in true Bashers style, by sinking a few beers and get legless with Lara one last time.
Sticky Wicket Bar – Big Bamboo
7 pm Tuesday the 2nd of Feb
This is the first of many events for the Bashers in 2010. Please get here and start the year how you intend to finish. So I am expecting all of you to make it down for a few quiets after work, followed by about 18 rounds of swing of the doors.
