Gentlemen, Here is the squad for Sunday; We have a strong line-up and my apologies for those who wished to play and who we could not squeeze in on this occasion-we have a long season ahead and so keep working at your games and the chances will be there!
We depart from The Camel at 7.30…. remember DULWICH for those going direct; please let me know on my cell if you are going direct-13795294193.
Let’s thrash them, Boys; I sniff Victory number two! Jimmy.
Gents,
We are officially on a roll now, let’s build on it and make it 3 on the trot whilst also putting one over on The Camel’s smallest cricket club…
The game is a 13:00 start. We are playing at Dulwich, which is nice for the WAGs, the non-boozers and the non-smokers.
We will meet at the Camel at 11:00 for an 11:15 departure…
There will be a one finger fine for every minute past 11:00, doubled for every minute after 11:15.
On a more serious note – our fielding was terrible vs K2. 10 dropped catches and average on the ground as well.
We won last year because of the support our fielders gave the bowlers – taking catches and generally building pressure through-out the game. Lets focus on getting that back.
Unless you hear from me – the game is on…

Guys,
On behalf of everyone in the Committee – I am posting this to make sure that all registered Bashers are aware:
The Bashers GEOFF HOWE BENEFIT QUIZ and AUCTION NIGHT has been POSTPONED to JULY 1st at CAMEL BAR!!!
Dear All
In case you have not already heard, the date for the Geoff Howe Benefit (World Cup Quiz Night and the Auction) has been postponed from Friday June 25th to Thursday July 1st. The event opens at 6.30, with the Quiz commencing at 7.30 sharp. So be there at 6.30 to organize your teams and get good tables.
We apologize for change, but please understand that the World Cup is on, and an appropriate venue has been difficult to secure arrangements for such an event. The Camel Bar have thankfully saved the day for us, and the date is especially good because it is the first in weeks WITHOUT a World Cup game scheduled.
So please inform anyone who you have previously told about this event that the date and venue have been changed. We apologize for the inconvenience, and your patience and understanding would be appreciated. We are all trying our best to support this effort.
The attached flyer shows the new time and date and return to the old venue – the Camel Bar. There are some great new prizes and we will be sending another flyer around early next week with the full updated list and description of prizes. Some details are currently available on our website: http://basherscc.org/blog/2010/05/18/raffle-for-geoff/
We look forward to seeing you all there!!
The leisure team convened under pleasantly overcast skies at 7.30 am on Sunday morning. We were without two leisure stalwarts, our regular leader Loose and the ubiquitous Gary Glitter, as well as late withdrawal Swoop. The ladies of the morning that usually entertain us while we wait for the bus were also conspicuous by their absence, but this may be mere coincidence. Whatever the reasons, we steeled ourselves to fight on a man short. (more…)
A slim, trim Bashers unit headed off to Dulwich for an afternoon game in high heat and even higher humidity. Captain Bugs reckoned strategically that the unbeaten Leopards would be less adept at compiling a target rather than chasing one down and promptly inserted them, exposing Pleasure to the ferocity of the elements. This strategic error had the contributing effect of most Bashers bowlers being plundered to all parts of the ground as the Oppo screamed to 233-9 off 30 overs.
In reply, Pleasure collapsed to 104 all out, hence losing the game by a sizable 129 runs. Honours with the bat again went to Swahili who compiled 23 not out in the elevated position of number 8 and Badabing who managed 21 before ‘retiring hurt’ with heat stroke. The only other contributors in double figures were Extras with 21 and Dazzler who made 11.
