Bashers Committee 2010 Registration
Dear Bashers,
With the finals only a week away and the End-of-Season Function and Hong Kong Sixes not long after that, it is time to give some thought to next year’s committee.
The Bashers Committee is an integral part of the Bashers, in charge of arranging sponsorships, procuring buses, organizing functions, purchasing kit, etc.
For 2010, the following positions are open for voting:
Committee Positions
President: Responsible for sponsorships and overall club leadership; main contact for the SCC and Cricket Shanghai (candidate must already have been a club member for at least three years at the beginning of next year)
Secretary: Responsible for maintaining club records; supports the president and treasurer
Treasurer: Maintains club finances and membership dues; supports the president and secretary
Club Captain: Responsible for all playing sides; organizes practice schedule, works with both Business and Pleasure captains to field teams, works with the president to arrange tours
Social Director: Responsible for club social functions; arranges dinners, quiz nights and traditional Bashers functions including Bashers Day, Family Day and the End-of-Season function
Non-Committee Positions
Business Captain: Responsible for on-the-field captaincy of the side, works with the Club Captain to choose the side
Pleasure Captain: Responsible for on-the-field captaincy of the side, works with the Club Captain to choose the side
Equipment Manager: In charge of the kit, maintaining and buying new equipment
Registration Procedure
Those wanting to run for the above mentioned positions should comment below or send an email to secretary@basherscc.org. Registration for positions ends on Friday, Nov. 13 at 5 pm. Voting to be held at the beginning of the End-of-Season function.

What positions are being vacated by the existing members?
All positions are open to nomination. Incumbents must renominate themselves should they wish to run again.
I’ll be up for Secretary and Treasurer.

This is THE year for members to step up. Build on the success on and off the filed over the last few years.
The last few years have seen us develop rapidly into the envy of the SCC – hence the numerous Anti-Bashers, the ‘cult’ accusations etc.
We have created a club that runs amazingly effectively – we are socially the strongest club, we are the only club that trains, we are the only club that can struggles to reduce numbers to get two teams on a field on the same day.
That is without mentioning podcasts, entertaining celebs, building forests in Mongolia, being carbon neutral, organizing SCC events, touring and generally setting the precendent for other clubs to follow (look at the Devils bus and eskies… where did that idea come from?)
2010 season we need strong characters to build on the last years’ work and ensure that we remain the envy of the SCC…

Put myself up for social director… will try to follow in his looseness’s footsteps.

Pleasure Skipper: Bugs, Made In
Custodian: Swoop, Made In
Treasurer: Oscar, Rock

Club Captain: Inquisition, Long Dong
Mascot: Lara, Suzie
I’d also like to encourage anyone to make up their own position and really Get Amongst It. There’s plenty to do for this committee but this club has blossomed because of the other guys and gals who do even more.
I’d like to stand for Poet Laureate because Katie is crap.

Custodian – One who has care or custody, as of some public building; a keeper or superintendent.
I nominate for ‘Assistant to the Social Director in the Capacity of Big Bamboo Custodian and Joint Liaison’. Bang!
OK, I am at the Bamboo a bit, so, I’ll work along side the social director (anyway I can) to make sure the Bamboo is prepared when used by the Bashers, ie;
*Appropriate room/tables, etc, booked, (Post game, pre game, televised sports, etc).
*Assistant to the Social Director in organising ’specials’ (similar to this weekend)
*Lara or Suzy on duty (or appropraite replacement if unavailable)
*Sky to increase the frequency with which she peruses the Bashers area, and the frequency with which she smiles at Mal.
*Maintain and perpetuate the Bashers’ exposure at the Bamboo.
Can I be the ‘assistant to the assistant’? Sounds like a ripper of a gig!
Guys I think it’s time I stepped it up a notch as well. Can’t keep the parties going forever….well I can but I might not make 30. Open to suggestions as per Sir Dick
