Guys,
We have had unprecedented response for the 6s, which is awesome. Not only do we have 15+ lads wanting to play, we also will have more guys at the dinner than Pudong / K2 combined. Its been tough trying to juggle the desire to win the 6s for the first time / participating in Bashers style / rewarding those who volunteered to umpire & score / taking Friday off work etc etc. We also have Danny Morrison requesting to play with us, which should make the whole weekend even more of a blast (listen to Podcast number 3 for a taster of things to come).

Anyways, The SCC are holding the Welcome Drinks this Friday at Thumb Plaza from 8PM.  Players from all teams are invited to partake in the looseness that will be going down. See details below:

When: Friday 23rd October

Time: 8:00 PM kick off

Where: Malone’s Thumb Plaza, 2/F, Thumb Plaza, 199 Fangdian Lu, near Dingxiang Lu, Poodung. 芳甸路199弄, 大拇指广场, 近丁香路

Cost: 150 RMB all you can drink and there’s food [eating is cheating]. Will be very loose!

Just an update on the last quiz where we saved the planet.

The Million Tree Project has uploaded some pictures of Good Bashers to their website in the Forest of Superhumans section.

Well done again everyone.

The draw is on it’s way out. Here’s a sneak preview.

This years tournament has 16 teams in the main sixes draw – divided into four groups. After two days cricket those 16 sides are split into Cup, Plate, Bowl and Spoon sections for the finals on Sunday.

Along side this is a Tri-nations Twenty-20 tournament featuring three national Ladies teams.

Finally a development league sixes comp will be run on Sunday

For those without the attention span here is a summary for the Bashers

• Friday 08:30 – 11:30 Officiating Duties (scoring Umpiring etc)
• Friday 11:40 vs Coke
• Saturday 09:00 vs Beijing CC
• Saturday 09:15 – 12:15 Officiating Zaheer Abbas v Singapore
• Saturday 12:40 vs Pudong
• Sunday 10:50-13:50 Officiating Development League & Bowl Semis

Also of course a semi final and possibly a final on Sunday

There’s also opportunities to help out with scoring at other times (the Cup Final Sunday afternoon, Ladies Final Sunday Morning and the first Ladies match Thursday Afternoon) if anyone is willing

As the clock struck 7AM on a balmy October’s morn, a handful of battle wearied Bashers soldiers converged on the Big Bamboo bound for SRFC headquarters in WaiGaoQiao, our enemy this week = K2. ‘Made In’ was the first casualty claiming [incorrectly as it was later pointed out] that he was incapable of pulling up after Swahili’s B’day bash, and was thus pulling a dodgy one. Pussy. So much for your 50 n.o. out predication and 5 wickets. 2^nd no-show and hardly surprising was Circus, always happy playing the role of the clown, but obviously not at 7:00 AM on a Sunday morning. Lightweight. Swahili was also MIA [I’ve got a feeling his b’day party the night before was more a gay orgy than actual party], but he managed to rock up a little latter so he redeemed himself somewhat… (more…)

Fellas, there is a mammoth week ahead of us. The Sixes will be a great weekend and I hope to see as many of you at the ground and at the dinner. As a warm-up event to the mammoth weekend, Raybon Kan (host of the Sixes dinner) will be doing a stand-up a Gig at Malone’s. It would be great to have a few of you along.
