International Sixes 2009

As usual things are a bit last minute and screwed up so it’s about time to call in the troops to help sort things out.

Overview: 23rd to 25th October for the Sixes. 16 teams. In addition there will be a Womens T20 from 22nd to 25th featuring Pakistan, Japan, China and Singapore. Pakistan are sending the core of their team that played in the recent Womens World Cup.

Bashers Broadcast Episode Twelve

Just when you thought you’d heard the last of us, just when you thought it was safe to let the kids back on the internet…
Here is the long longed for episode twelve. Some have suggested it should be the “lost episode”. We bid the Shed one final hurrah in devastating fashion. Usual ramblings in “Around the wicket”. It’s somebody’s birthday! “Drinks break” is chokka full of up-and-comings and there’s not enough time to finish the “Nightwatchman”. The “Third umpire” includes a bunch of lumberjack action including some rural Nanjing reports. Circus is our guest Basher this week, the less said about that the better. And a bunch of other stuff too.

Bashers Bowling League

Guys, Gals and Deano(aka Gaylord),

We will be setting up a Bashers Bowling league in the comming days. So far the idea seems to have interest so we are now  looking for players from all genders, Deano included. This is a great way to get together and socialize with a little excercise for all those associated with the club who dont enjoy sitting at a bar……..

We can make this bimonthly event or weekly depending on the responses and willingness. The bowling alley is in Hengshan road so easily accesable to all, There is a Pizza restaurant next door (have confirmed already allowed to bring in pizza) drinks are cheap and atmosphere great.  So if your interested in having fun for all, let me know.

Each teams consists of 4, so perfect for 2 couples or 3 + Deano…..

so get cranking and get your confirmations in.

Hong Kong 6′s Cricket Festival 4 – 6 December

Bashers & Gashers / Geishas,

Advance warning of the HK Cricket festival 6′s for 2009, hosted by our very good friends, Lamma Cricket Club. The dates this year are: Friday 4 December to Saturday 6 December.

2008 saw the Bashers send a team overseas to our first ever international 6s tournament.  According to the one member of the team who can remember anything past the first evening, apparently everyone had a great time. We even managed toplay some pretty good cricket, losing a couple of very close games including a 2 run loss to the tournament finalists. Other highlights included our Pres. being named best player in the Spoon competition and JC playing for the opposition and soundly beating the Bashers!

(Worthy mention goes to photo No.0536 where the esteemed President does a combination impression of Divinyl & Right Said Fred – perhaps a new nickname?? and to photo No. 0574 where the very elegant Bashers put everyone to shame, incl. some gypsy in a brown tracksuit).

At this stage, we are just trying to gauge numbers. Please let us know if this is a tour that would interest you by the end of August. This is a Bashers tour – so everyone welcome. Further details to follow as they come. Please note you are not bound by anything once you show interest.

If for some reason we cannot raise a team, then HK 6′s will have to ask a different less popular team (such an any with Mike T playing in it). No one wants that.
